If I could give them 0 stars i would. Horrible company! Rude secretaries! You show up for court and the attorney tells you to send them a fax to offer a lumpsum settlement, but tell you have to keep calling to get an answer on something that shouldn't take but a day to resolve. They want you to wait 21 days for a response in the mail. This is ridiculous and the company is a scam! Run. Dont use them. If you are the defendant, you can forget getting someone from this company to be professional and uphold the law. They are crooks and will keep the case going just to get attorney fees! Despicable people with a lack for consumers in their own city.

Services Offered

Based on publicly available customer reviews, The Baer Firm appears to be involved in legal matters that often involve defendants and issues related to settlements, court fees, and what clients perceive as collections. While specific, detailed practice areas are not explicitly listed in the provided information, the nature of the feedback suggests that the firm likely handles aspects of:

  • Debt Collection and Consumer Law: The reviews heavily imply that The Baer Firm represents clients in matters related to debts, settlements, and court fees, which are common in debt collection litigation. This would involve pursuing claims against individuals or entities for outstanding financial obligations.
  • Civil Litigation (Defendant Representation): Given phrases like "If you are the defendant," it suggests the firm may represent parties being sued in civil disputes, helping them navigate court proceedings, negotiate settlements, and defend against claims.
  • General Legal Practice: Like many law offices, it is plausible that The Baer Firm also engages in other common legal services within Tennessee, though specific evidence for this is not provided. These could potentially include contract disputes, property issues, or other civil matters.

It is important to note that the provided customer reviews convey significant dissatisfaction with the firm's services, particularly concerning communication, perceived professionalism, and handling of cases. Clients mention difficulties in getting timely responses, issues with scheduling, and concerns about transparency regarding fees and case progression. These comments suggest that the firm's approach to client interaction, especially for defendants, may be a point of concern for potential clients.

For any Tennessee resident considering legal assistance from The Baer Firm, it would be crucial to directly contact them to confirm their precise areas of practice and discuss your specific legal needs in detail. This direct communication would allow you to inquire about their processes, fee structures, and how they manage client communication and case updates, ensuring you have a clear understanding before engaging their services.

Features / Highlights

When evaluating The Baer Firm for legal services in Tennessee, particularly for those in Memphis, certain operational features and client experiences become apparent based on the provided feedback. While positive highlights are not explicitly detailed in the customer reviews, we can infer some operational aspects and areas of client concern.

  • Proximity to Courts: One key feature highlighted in a review is the firm's office location "next to the court." This geographical proximity can be a practical advantage, potentially streamlining attorney travel to court for hearings and facilitating quick access to court resources and filings. For clients, this could imply efficiency in handling their cases that require frequent court attendance.
  • Focus on Specific Legal Areas: The reviews strongly suggest that The Baer Firm is active in areas of law involving debt collection and civil litigation, particularly from the perspective of representing creditors or plaintiffs, or engaging with defendants in such cases. This specialization, if it is indeed a primary focus, means the firm likely has experience and established procedures within these particular legal fields.
  • Client Communication and Professionalism (Area of Concern): A significant theme in the customer reviews revolves around challenges with client communication and perceived professionalism. Clients report difficulties in receiving timely responses, securing meetings, and getting clear updates on their cases. Terms like "rude secretaries," "unprofessional," and "scam" are used, indicating a considerable level of dissatisfaction among these specific reviewers regarding the firm's client service and communication practices. Concerns about case delays ("keep the case going just to get attorney fees") and the treatment of clients ("treat people like garbage over the phone") are also prominent.
  • Fee Structure and Transparency (Area of Concern): The reviews also raise questions about fees, with mentions of "multiple court fees" and additional online payment fees, suggesting that clients feel financial burdens are exacerbated without sufficient justification or transparency. This highlights the importance for potential clients to have a very clear understanding of all costs involved before engaging the firm.

For any Tennessee resident considering The Baer Firm, it is essential to be aware of these reported client experiences, especially regarding communication and financial transparency. Direct engagement with the firm to discuss these concerns and seek explicit assurances about their service approach would be highly advisable before proceeding with any legal engagement.

Promotions or Special Offers

Specific promotions or special offers are not publicly advertised for The Baer Firm in the provided information, nor is it common practice for law firms to offer "discounts" or "sales" in the traditional retail sense. Legal fees are typically structured based on the type of case, the complexity of the legal work involved, and the attorney's time and expertise.

However, like many law firms in Tennessee and across the country, it is possible that The Baer Firm offers some form of initial consultation. These can vary:

  • Initial Consultations: Many law firms provide an initial meeting to discuss a potential client's legal issue. This could be a brief phone call or a more in-depth in-person meeting. The purpose is for the attorney to assess the case and for the potential client to understand the firm's approach.
  • Fee Structure Discussion: During an initial consultation, the firm would typically discuss their fee structure. This might involve hourly rates, flat fees for specific services, or contingency fees (where the attorney's payment is a percentage of the settlement or award, common in certain types of cases like personal injury).

Given the strong client feedback concerning fees and the overall experience, it is critically important for any Tennessee resident considering The Baer Firm to:

  • Directly inquire about their consultation policy: Ask whether the initial consultation is free, or if there is a charge.
  • Request a clear breakdown of all potential fees: This includes attorney fees, court fees, administrative costs, and any additional charges for online payments or other services. Transparency about costs should be a key part of your initial discussion.
  • Clarify communication protocols: Inquire about how updates will be provided, how often, and what the expected response times are for inquiries.

Since there are no advertised promotions, the primary "offer" for new clients would be the opportunity for an initial discussion to assess their legal needs and understand the firm's fee structure and service approach. For Tennessee locals, thoroughly understanding these financial and operational aspects upfront is crucial for managing expectations and making an informed decision about legal representation.

For Tennessee residents facing issues in these areas, the firm's active presence in this niche could mean a familiarity with local procedures and relevant legal precedents. The provision of both a landline and a mobile phone number offers flexible communication channels, allowing potential and current clients to reach out as needed.

However, it is critically important for any Tennessee local considering The Baer Firm to be fully aware of the significant concerns raised in the provided customer reviews. Themes of poor communication, perceived unprofessionalism, delayed responses, and issues with fee transparency are prominent. Phrases such as "rude secretaries," "horrible company," "scam," and accusations of perpetuating cases for attorney fees suggest a substantial level of client dissatisfaction. For locals, this means that while the firm offers geographical convenience and is engaged in specific legal areas, a thorough and cautious approach is essential before engaging their services.

Therefore, for residents of Tennessee, The Baer Firm could be a viable option if their specific legal needs align with the firm's apparent practice areas. However, it is strongly advised to prioritize clear and direct communication during initial inquiries. Prospective clients should explicitly ask about communication protocols, expected response times, and a comprehensive breakdown of all potential fees. Verifying their current practices regarding client updates and professional conduct would be a crucial step. By proactively addressing these potential areas of concern, Tennessee locals can make a more informed decision and manage their expectations when considering The Baer Firm for their legal needs. Ultimately, choosing a legal representative is a deeply personal decision that should be based on trust, transparency, and a clear understanding of the services provided.

The worse place, they think they own the world... just because they're attorneys... they treat people like garbage over the phone, unless u want business with them, then they'll probably kiss it... they take advantage of the poor people and the government allows it. They have an office next to the court, how convenient, I bet they even dine in with the judge and play golf with the judge so the judge keep beating on poor people while they get rich, no lies they even joke inside the court room, they can't hide themselves.. is all about the money, not only that you have to pay the attorneys, you have to pay multiple court fees, plus if you want to pay online another fee... we struggle and lose our jobs while they find ways to make it worse for you, that's the bear firm, they want to crucify you, where is the human love, they rather see you in a corner asking for money than working with you. I cant wait to see this Babylon going down... it will happened. Now I get why you see more and more homeless people in America, our own damn government is forcing the poor one that direction and we the one who make them richer, den of thieves

Can not do anything on line, high inconvenience, the only way of getting the payments in if you work is if you go to them and they do not have a drop box nor anyway to make payments online. It 2022 they need to update their policies and payment options

Beware of these con artists, working in cahoots with local apartment owners by running scams to steal from hard working folks in the Memphis area. They operate in the gray areas of the law while lining their pockets from minorities. Do your own research and find a reputable law firm to handle your legal needs.
