Positive client testimonials, such as the one praising her for a successful dispute resolution and recommending her for "future needs," serve as strong word-of-mouth promotion. While one client had an overwhelmingly positive experience, achieving a successful outcome and praising Barbara J. Collins's responsiveness and legal acumen, another review details significant challenges with communication and case acceptance. This client described making multiple phone calls over a month to simply inquire about case acceptance, being met with a professional but seemingly busy tone, and ultimately being told the case would not be taken after a significant delay, without proactive communication from the attorney. The client expressed frustration with the delay and lack of a timely rejection, citing an ethical concern. This contrasting feedback suggests that while Barbara J. Collins is highly skilled and effective for some clients, potential issues with communication and managing caseloads might impact the experience for others. Prospective clients should consider both the strong positive testimonials highlighting her legal capabilities and the concerns regarding responsiveness and communication when deciding if The Law Office of Barbara J. Collins is the right fit for their employment law needs. Her deep knowledge of employment law remains a consistent strength, but the client experience with initial contact and ongoing communication may vary.

Called three times over a month ago to inquire whether attorney would be willing to take case. Finally spoke about matter on 4th call attempt. Her tone is professional; however, her repeated statements of being busy with so many cases should have been a red flag for me. Nevertheless, I gave my docket number and expected to hear her decision within a couple of weeks. Today, a month later, I called (using my instinct) to discover decision. Well, first (and I am summarizing), she asked if I were one of the people who she had to call back. Red flag #2. I had refreshed her memory about my situation and that I gave her my docket number to review case. IMMEDIATELY, she (1) states that she is going on vacation, (2) states that she would not be able to take the case...after a month had passed. I addressed the delay and failure in contacting me, which was responded with a response someone would do to ignore. Red flag #3. An earlier rejection would have been helpful, and most definitely ethically professional. But, as Maya Angelou once said, "If some shows you who they are the first time, believe them." Sad thing is she was recommended by someone whom I highly respect professionally who zealously is pro-civil rights. Lesson learned.
