At the end they will change you the lawyer with out notice and never appear again. Just call any other lawyer. Super unprofesional, looks like they know what they are doing, until the end when you realize that everything they are trying to do is settle anything as quick as posible with out checking paperworks and leaving you in a worst problem. Just Don't called them.
Dec 24, 2024 · Felipe Buenaventura AguilarWe found out that my wife had a judgement entered against her. We were not even aware of any lawsuit or motion, until nearly a year after the entry of the judgement. She was not notified by the Plaintiff or the court at the time of the suit. She contacted Richard Amdur for his council, and to seek to have the judgement vacated. She explained the situation to him; that she had never been notified, and in fact that the plaintiff didn't even have her correct address. We suggested that he should include some Meritorious Defense to demonstrate that the judgement was fraudulent in the first place, but he claimed he knew the law, and how to file this motion. He filed the Motion to Vacate. The Plaintiff responded with nearly one hundred pages of documents which had no reference to the direct issue, or evidence they they had followed the law and notified her. Their defense was that she could have heard about the case through other parties or means. They also acknowledged that they didn't have her correct address. The law is clear: A defendant must be notified either via Certified Mail or a process server. Another attorney in Amdur's office stated that a defendant, which is in fact not true; besides the fact that my wife wasn't notified via email either. Richard Amdur's response to the court consisted of three paragraphs of nonsense; which again didn't provide any Meritorious Defense. Needless to say; the Motion to Vacate was unsuccessful. After that she still forty-five days to appeal. The judge signed the denial on May 8, 2024, but my wife was not notified from Amdur's office until June 10, 2024, so the time for the appeal was nearly expired. Not only did he completely mishandle the case; he also blew any chance she may have had to appeal the decission. For this debacle, Amdur charged her $8,500. I could go on with a list of his unprofessionalism, but I think I've made my point. My recommendation is to steer clear of this lawyer, at all costs.
