I hired them in March 2024 to assist with a case. I paid $300 for a consultation (not a problem) with Billy King and the meeting went exceptionally well. Unfortunately, nothing he said would happen, happened and I ended up paying more for the case to eventually not even get filed. He did tell me after our meeting he would pass the case to a more experienced attorney who handles these types of cases. Cool, have a phone meeting with Stephanie(who stated she wasn’t sure how to go about the case and would speak with someone else) that ultimately cost around $950 about why I needed them. In essence, I paid over $1,200 for a consultation. As the time past I noticed the $4,000 retainer (that billy said would be enough) was draining FAST and the invoices weren’t making sense because per the invoice it looked like they were just obtaining paperwork from the court. I ended up having to pay $700 because I was over my $4,000 retainer and literally NOTHING had even been filed yet. When I emailed the office to ask for clarification on the charges from the invoice, she emailed me back asking if I read the invoice. Obviously, I did and had questions. I ended up emailing a withdrawal letter because the cost just didn’t make sense to me. I had called a couple times for 1 month asking for my folder and after 1 month, Stephanie called me acting she cared about the case (mind you she only called me one time and that was our first call) and stated if I paid them $1,500 she would file the petition. I respectfully told her no and requested my file. When I received my file I was expecting a large amount of court documents because what else would cost $4,700. When I got my file, there was 5 sheets of paper. I was literally sick because I felt like I was ripped off and paid $5,009 for the office to obtain 5 documents from the court and draft a petition that didn’t even get filed. This office is a complete rip off and do your research on the attorney they try to put you with to see if they actually know what they’re doing. If I could in any way recoup SOME funds I would probably feel a little better but overall, this was a terrible experience.
