Not good experience at all. The person in charge to make me all questions about my case sounds like everything bothers her. Always talked to like Im doing something wrong. No people skills at all and she needs a customer service training. So rude and unprofessional. Someone told me about Anibal’s firm that was very professional but this lady in particular not represents the firm background.

As a listed legal service provider on the "Lawyers Near Me" platform, The Romero Firm aims to offer legal services to the local community. The firm's downtown Newark location in a commercial building suggests a professional environment suitable for client consultations and legal work, potentially offering accessibility due to its central location within the city.

While specific details about the interior aesthetics of The Romero Firm's office are not available through standard online searches, a fourth-floor office in a Market Street building in Newark typically indicates a professional setting within a commercial environment. Clients can likely expect a space designed to facilitate confidential discussions and legal proceedings. The location in downtown Newark may offer accessibility via public transportation and major roadways, aiming to serve clients from various parts of the metropolitan area.

The specific areas of law handled by The Romero Firm are not explicitly detailed in the provided information. However, the mention of "immigration law firm" in one of the negative reviews suggests that immigration law is one area of their practice. Additionally, the reference to "Anibal’s firm" being considered professional by one reviewer, in contrast to a negative experience with another staff member, implies that the firm may handle a range of legal matters. Based on the common legal needs of a diverse urban population and the potential areas of expertise within a multi-attorney firm, The Romero Firm might offer services in areas such as:

  • Immigration Law: Assisting individuals with various immigration matters, including visas, green cards, citizenship, deportation defense, and asylum. The negative review specifically mentions dissatisfaction with the firm's handling of an immigration case.
  • Personal Injury Law: Representing individuals who have been injured due to the negligence of others, seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
  • Real Estate Law: Assisting clients with residential and commercial real estate transactions, lease agreements, and property disputes.
  • Business Law: Providing legal counsel to businesses on matters such as formation, contracts, disputes, and general business advice.
  • Family Law: Handling divorce, child custody, child support, and other family-related legal issues.
  • Criminal Defense: Representing individuals accused of crimes.
  • Other Potential Areas: Depending on the expertise of the attorneys at The Romero Firm, they may also offer services in other areas of law relevant to the needs of the Newark community.

The provided customer reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the client experience at The Romero Firm. One reviewer expresses a "not good experience at all," citing rude and unprofessional behavior from a staff member who handled their case inquiries. The reviewer specifically mentions a lack of people skills and suggests customer service training is needed. This individual's experience did not align with a positive perception they had heard about "Anibal’s firm," indicating a potential inconsistency in the firm's professionalism depending on the specific staff member encountered.

Another, more detailed negative review focuses on dissatisfaction with the immigration law services, specifically citing significant delays and a prolonged lack of communication from a paralegal named Jessica Mejia. The client details unanswered calls, texts, and emails over a period of 12 days. This lack of responsiveness caused considerable frustration and led the client to question the firm's prioritization of existing clients versus new consultations. The reviewer also alleges rudeness and being hung up on by secretaries when attempting to address the communication issues with the paralegal. This client ultimately expresses strong dissatisfaction and states they would not recommend The Romero Firm due to the emotional distress caused by their treatment.

Considering these two negative reviews, the features of The Romero Firm, as perceived by these clients, include:

  • Potential for Unprofessional and Rude Staff Interactions: Both reviews highlight negative experiences with staff members, including a paralegal and secretaries.
  • Significant Communication Issues: The immigration law client experienced prolonged delays and a complete lack of response to multiple attempts at contact.
  • Lack of Prioritization for Existing Clients (Alleged): One reviewer felt that the firm focused more on consultations than on serving existing clients.
  • Emotional Distress Caused to Clients (Reported): The negative experience with the immigration services reportedly caused the client emotional distress over several months.
  • Inconsistency in Professionalism (Implied): One reviewer's negative experience contrasted with a positive perception they had heard about "Anibal’s firm," suggesting potential variations in the professionalism of different individuals within the firm.

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the provided customer reviews, it is challenging to identify positive promotional aspects directly from this information. The reviews serve more as cautionary notes for potential clients. The mention of "Anibal’s firm" being perceived as professional by one reviewer might suggest that there are individuals within the firm who uphold a higher standard of service, but this is overshadowed by the specific negative experiences detailed.

For individuals in Newark, NJ, and the surrounding areas searching the "Lawyers Near Me" platform, The Romero Firm, located at 400 Market St 4th Floor, presents a local legal option. However, potential clients should be aware of the serious concerns raised in recent customer feedback regarding the professionalism and responsiveness of some staff members, particularly in the context of immigration law services. While the firm may offer services in various legal areas, the reported negative experiences with communication and customer service should be carefully considered before engaging their services. The provided phone number, (973) 344-4600, can be used to contact the firm, but potential clients may wish to inquire specifically about the attorney or paralegal who would be handling their case and express their concerns based on the publicly available feedback.

In conclusion, The Romero Firm in Newark, NJ, is a law firm located in a central area that may offer services in immigration law, personal injury, real estate, business law, and other areas. However, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns regarding the professionalism and communication practices of some staff members, including a paralegal and secretaries. I wish to express my dissatisfaction with the immigration law firm, particularly my interactions with parelegal Jessica Mejia. Despite having engaged their services on January 6th with the understanding of a response within 1-2 days, I encountered a significant delay. It was only on January 18th, 12 days later, that I managed to establish contact. Throughout this period, attempts to communicate with Jessica Mejia via calls, texts, and email went unanswered. This prolonged lack of communication proved to be a source of considerable frustration. I share this experience as a cautionary note to others. It is advisable to consider the professionalism and responsiveness of legal representatives carefully. In my case, the apparent lack of prioritization for existing clients and a focus on constant consultations raised concerns. Their secreataries are also rude and hung up the phone on me, even after I explained that the parelegal did not communciate with me at all after I paid for a service. How they treated me caused me emotional distress for months. I would not recommend them to anyone !

The secretary made an error and told us my case was approved by the judge and they gave us an appointment to go sign papers to start the immigration case, when we got there they told us that the secretary read the paper wrong and the judge didn’t approve the case. That is not a mistake to be playing about.. how do you work in a place like that and can’t even read a paper right?.
