The only positive that I can provide is that I never had to go into an office to meet with Blanca Espinosa and that they recoup the cost of adoption directly from DFPS. My kiddo's adoption was September 2023, we are rapidly approaching a year and several phone calls later and I have not received any assistance with my kiddo's new birth certificate. I have called and/or texted no less than half a dozen times and have not received any response from the receptionist who answers the phone, Blanca, or Mr. Worrell. I am in the process of figuring out how to do this on my own and have grown increasingly more irritated. You may receive a better outcome if this is not a DFPS case, but don't bank on it. I would not ever consider them for my personal matters based on this experience.
For individuals and families in Dallas, Texas, seeking legal assistance with adoption and family law matters, The Worrell Law Firm is a firm that appears on the "Lawyers Near Me" platform. This firm seems to have a particular focus on adoption, including cases involving the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).
The Worrell Law Firm is located at 4144 N Central Expy 230, Ste 230, Dallas, TX 75204, USA. This address places the firm in a central and accessible part of Dallas, making it reasonably convenient for local clients. While no specific details about the interior of the office are provided, the nature of a family law firm typically implies a professional and comfortable environment where sensitive and personal legal matters can be discussed with discretion. One client noted the positive aspect of "never had to go into an office to meet with Blanca Espinosa," suggesting that the firm may offer flexible meeting options, including virtual consultations, which can be a convenience for clients.
The primary service offered by The Worrell Law Firm, as strongly indicated by the client reviews, is adoption. This includes navigating the complexities of the adoption process, particularly for cases involving DFPS (Department of Family and Protective Services). One client explicitly mentioned that the firm can "recoup the cost of adoption directly from DFPS," which is a significant feature for families adopting children through the foster care system, as it can alleviate a financial burden.
Beyond the adoption finalization, the firm's services appear to extend to post-adoption support, specifically assistance with obtaining new birth certificates for adopted children. However, client experiences regarding this post-adoption support vary significantly, as detailed in the reviews. It is clear that the firm aims to provide comprehensive support throughout the adoption journey, but the efficacy of their follow-up service for paperwork like birth certificates appears to be an area where client satisfaction can differ.
The features of The Worrell Law Firm, as described by clients, present a mixed picture. On the positive side, the firm, and specifically Glenn Worrell's paralegal, Sylvia, are praised for being "amazing" and "wonderful." One client expressed, "We had so many questions throughout our adoption process and Glenn Worrell’s paralegal (Sylvia) addressed every last one of them, without hesitation. We weren’t ignored but treated like family." This highlights a strong positive feature: the firm's commitment to client communication, responsiveness, and a compassionate, family-like approach during an often emotional and complex process. The active involvement and comfort provided to supporting family members on the day of adoption, as described by a client ("Glenn Worrell both made sure my elderly parents were extremely comfortable and that every single supporting person present was involved in the process. It was so beautiful!"), further emphasize their client-centric and empathetic service during the celebratory culmination of an adoption.
Conversely, a significant concern regarding the firm's features arises from another client's experience. This client reported a lack of responsiveness and assistance with obtaining a new birth certificate post-adoption. Despite "no less than half a dozen" calls and texts, they received "not received any response from the receptionist who answers the phone, Blanca, or Mr. Worrell." This suggests a potential inconsistency in post-adoption follow-up and communication, particularly concerning administrative tasks like securing new documentation. The client's frustration ("I have grown increasingly more irritated. You may receive a better outcome if this is not a DFPS case, but don't bank on it. I would not ever consider them for my personal matters based on this experience.") indicates that while the adoption finalization may be handled well, sustained support for subsequent paperwork can be a point of dissatisfaction.
For promotional information, the positive review paints a very appealing picture. The recommendation from a caseworker and the description of being "treated like family" are powerful endorsements. The firm's ability to facilitate a beautiful and inclusive adoption day experience, ensuring all family members feel involved and comfortable, would be a strong selling point for prospective adoptive parents searching on "Lawyers Near Me." The mention of recouping DFPS costs directly is also a practical and attractive benefit for certain adoption cases.
However, the negative review serves as a crucial piece of information for potential clients. While it doesn't diminish the firm's ability to finalize adoptions, it highlights a potential gap in their post-adoption administrative support. This feedback suggests that while the front-end legal work and client interaction during the primary adoption process might be excellent, clients should clarify expectations regarding long-term administrative assistance for related documentation. Transparency about this potential variability in service quality would be important for an objective introduction.
In conclusion, The Worrell Law Firm in Dallas appears to be a specialized legal practice focusing on adoption and family law, with notable experience in DFPS-involved cases. For local users utilizing "Lawyers Near Me," the firm offers compassionate and involved legal assistance during the adoption process, particularly through the efforts of professionals like paralegal Sylvia. Their ability to facilitate a positive and inclusive adoption day experience, and their knowledge of DFPS cost recoupment, are strong advantages. However, potential clients should be aware of varying experiences regarding post-adoption administrative support, such as obtaining new birth certificates, and may wish to confirm the scope and responsiveness of such services during their initial consultation.

Oct 17, 2017 · Carolyn OladunjoyeMy wife and I adopted a sibling group last year and retained The Worrell Law Firm to finalize the adoption. The entire experience was incredibly smooth and stress-free. It was obvious from the start that they had enormous experience representing adoptive parents. They not only had the technical expertise to get the job done, but were also very supportive and encouraging. I would recommend this law firm, without reservation, to other parents adopting in Texas. Thank you!
Mar 05, 2017 · DC FieldsWhat a great Law Firm. We contacted this firm when our adoption of our foster daughter was expedited. Sylvia was on top it. I called her to explain our situation and she explained to me everything I needed to know. Sylvia was there every step of the way. Yesterday when we arrived to court Mr. Worrell was very welcoming not only to use, but to all of our family and friends that came to witness our adoption. Mr. Worrell was very patient with our daughter who is special needs and needs prompts to answer questions. She even hugged him when he was trying to ask her a question in front of the judge. It takes a special person to be patient with children with special needs especially in court and Mr. Worrell did fantastic. He even took pictures with us after we were done. Highly recommended.
Jul 27, 2016 · Patricia NorthcuttI had to take the time to write a review to share our experience with the Worrell Law Firm. This was truly an amazing experience for my family. We did a Termination/Step parent adoption. Throughout the entire process, Blanca and Sylvia were on it. They kept us informed of the process for court and all the necessary steps we needed to take. Not only did they help in the adoption process, they also helped us with the termination of the absent father. (Which I didn't think was possible) I couldn't thank God enough for bringing these amazing attorneys in our lives. They truly care about our children and take pride in their work. When we arrived to the court, Mr. Worrell arrived sharp and ready for court. I knew he could tell we were all nervous. He took the time to speak to each one of my children. Speaking to all 3, he asked them, "do you know why you are here?" They said "to be adopted" He made them and us feel at ease before we went into court. During court he called all our family up front to share in this experience. This day was a very emotional and fantastic day. It will always be a day to remember. From the bottom of our hearts we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS FROM THE NEW JACINTO FAMILY!
