He has represented me in a few cases and has been a beast each and every time. If you want to win, hire Tyler." Other positive reviews commend his professionalism, responsiveness, preparedness in court, and ability to achieve favorable decisions, with some clients stating he "went above and beyond" and is "highly knowledgeable in his field." These reviews often highlight effective communication and a strong advocacy for the client's interests, particularly in complex divorce and custody matters, with some clients using him multiple times over a decade.
However, there is also a significantly negative review that provides a contrasting perspective. This detailed account describes an extremely dissatisfying experience, particularly concerning a divorce/family law case. The reviewer characterized the service as "the worst service I’ve ever received by a so-called professional in my entire life." Key points of concern raised in this review include:
Communication and Consent: The client alleged that an attorney assigned to their case "literally agreed with my estranged ex-wife’s attorney to sign the temporary orders without my consent," despite multiple emails stating disagreement with the demands.
Lack of Advocacy: The reviewer felt that a subsequent attorney on their case "couldn’t argue my case, for she literally let the opposing counsel do all the talking, and no contest was attempted by her."
Professionalism and Trust: The client reported experiencing "a lot of unprofessionalism" and feeling "disrespected." A particularly concerning incident involved being asked to sign a document that the attorney allegedly had not reviewed thoroughly, telling the client "I’m happy. You read it that most people won’t read it, and they’ll sign."
Cost vs. Outcome: The client stated spending "over $13k in 3 months" and feeling they "paid them to lose the entire case," ultimately losing "faith in the process" and regretting their decision. The reviewer also questioned if there was racial bias involved in how they were treated, stating "At some point I was thinking, Are they racially biased? Maybe they don’t represent black folks. At some point, it looked like I employed an attorney working for the opposing counsel."
This stark contrast in feedback underscores the importance for prospective clients to engage in thorough due diligence. While some clients have had highly successful and positive experiences, the severe criticisms in the negative review highlight potential areas of concern regarding communication, consent, and perceived dedication to the client's case. It is important to note that law firms, especially those with multiple attorneys, can have varied client experiences.

Apr 11, 2025 · Stephani KinseyWaited for months to write this. This is the worst service I’ve ever received by a so-called professional in my entire life. I was looking around for a good divorce/family lawyer around the Fort Worth downtown axis. I came across Tyler Monahan. I saw a few negative reviews on their Tyler Monahan page; They have two Google pages by the way. Which business has two different Google pages? Read carefully the negative reviews we have similar experience in common. I was a little bit concerned by it. I don’t know why I still went ahead to call them. I spoke with Misty; she sounded nice on the phone, sounded professional, and sounded like they'd take care of my situation. I asked her about the negative reviews on their Google platform. She said, “When it comes to family or divorce cases, people will always want cases to go their way, and if it doesn't, they’ll get mad and leave negative comments. I decided to engage their service. Worst decision I’ve ever made. Heather was assigned to handle my case. She literally agreed with my estranged ex-wife’s attorney to sign the temporary orders without my consent. I stated in multiple emails that I didn’t agree to whatever outrageous demands they wanted. I emailed her that I never have any written or verbal agreement with you. They were literally persuading me to agree to this TPO. They said if I decided to see the judge, it may be worse than their demands. I went ahead to see the judge. Then my case was transferred to Tina, which was worse than her counterpart. She couldn’t argue my case, for she literally let the opposing counsel do all the talking, and no contest was attempted by her. I was asked if I already agreed to the TPO. I stated that I never agreed to any TPO, and I didn’t sign or instruct my attorney to sign on my behalf. The judge's decision was a little bit better than their demand. There is a lot of unprofessionalism. I can’t go into too many details regarding how I was treated by this business. You’ll be disrespected. At some point I was thinking, Are they racially biased? Maybe they don’t represent black folks. At some point, it looked like I employed an attorney working for the opposing counsel. Tina told me to sign a document she never reviewed. She told me she has gone through it and I only need to sign; I insisted that it was wrong that the judge already ruled that out. So I showed her in the judge's decision. She said I’m happy. You read it that most people won’t read it, and they’ll sign. That was the day I decided to stop these people before they made life miserable for me after spending over $13k in 3 months. They only care about money and will threaten to withdraw your case. You may decide to see my comments like I’m ranting, just the way I overlooked some negative comments on here. This person will make the case worse. You’re better off going to court yourself than employing this scam of a business to take up your case. They sound so convincing to make you pay for their service(s) cos that’s all they need from you. It’s so obvious that they don’t care about their customers or your case. This is not a reputable firm! I literally paid them to lose the entire case. Because i started on a wrong note. They didn’t even try to stand up for me in anyway, which was what I paid them for. I decided not to waste more money on any other lawyer by not getting any legal representation, because i already lost faith in the process. Choosing them cost me more money, my peace of mind, Do yourself a favor and look for a better lawyer. They may cost more, but their services will be worth it. If you decide to use them, good luck to you.
Oct 07, 2024 · Ogundele OluwatosinThis law firm charged my fiancé $6000 to do his divorce. Since last September we have gotten zero communication. Even after they fired the lawyer that was handling his case. Nobody calls to give him updates and Misty was very rude to him when he called to vent his frustrations with their efforts. They continue to put this on the back burner and still have not resolved his case. They start off really nice and professional but turns out, they are lawyers (liars) and are all about the money.
