I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the conduct of attorney Fermin at Valencia & Associates. During a recent communication on March 25th, 2025, Mr. Fermin began yelling at me and repeatedly demanded "what's your answer" while I was attempting to provide accurate information regarding our last contact and the reasons for the lack of progress on our case since 2023. This information had previously been communicated to our attorney, Ricardo, who was informed that all necessary documents had been provided that we could provide. Despite this, the firm did not proceed with our case. Upon my follow-up in November 2024, and during our interaction tonight, we were met with a severe lack of professionalism and what I perceived as an aggressive approach from Mr. Fermin, individuals with whom we expected to feel secure and entrust with sensitive family information. I was shocked and appalled by Mr. Fermin's behavior, which I found to be completely inappropriate for an attorney. After I addressed his actions directly, the firm subsequently informed us that they would be dropping our case, alleging that we were threatening him. This characterization of the interaction is inaccurate as all I told him I was recording this conversation to make sure I get all the accurate information from our phone meeting from an app Otter.ai he proceeded to say I was threatening him. Guess it's against the law to record a phone meeting, I honestly that that's were we are at in today's world, he didn't expect us to be this smart I guess! Based on this experience, I cannot recommend or trust this firm with sensitive information or matters concerning family well-being. I intend to file a formal complaint with the California State Bar Association and the relevant department within the Immigration authorities regarding what I believe to be unprofessional conduct and abuse of power. I am deeply concerned by the firm's handling of our case, including the delay in processing, the lack of proactive communication, and the subsequent attempt to shift blame for their inaction. While acknowledging that legal practices can be busy, this does not excuse the apparent lack of diligence and the unprofessional manner in which we were treated after they accepted our payment. I urge others to carefully consider entrusting Valencia & Associates with their legal matters.
