Be careful!! This guy is a con. Do not hire this man. I paid him in full almost 13K to handle a case and he went MIA and hasn’t returned any of my calls or emails since. I then started doing more research to learn he got disbarred on the 13th of August 2024. Funny story, I haven’t heard from this man in almost a month but the min I dispute the CC charges I used to pay him in full, he responded rapidly to them with documentations yet he can’t respond to any of my calls and emails. Last I heard from him was August 12, 2024. It’s now September 4th and still no word from this man..
This introduction addresses Van Johnson & Associates, a legal practice located at 3340 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30326, USA. As a listing within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, it is crucial for potential local users to have a comprehensive understanding of the firm based on available information. It is important to note that the following introduction is based solely on the provided client reviews and does not include any additional information about the firm's services, environment, features, or promotional material from other sources. Therefore, the assessment presented here is limited to the direct feedback provided by individuals who have interacted with Van Johnson & Associates.
The physical environment of Van Johnson & Associates is indicated by its address on Peachtree Road in Atlanta. This location suggests a presence within a commercial area, likely in an office building. However, no specific details about the office's ambiance, size, or resources are available from the provided reviews. The two client reviews provided offer serious and concerning feedback regarding the professional conduct and communication practices of Van Johnson & Associates, specifically referencing an attorney named Anthony (presumably associated with the firm, although his full name is not provided in the second review, the context strongly implies it refers to Van Johnson). The first review, from a client who paid a significant sum of $13,000, alleges that the attorney became uncommunicative ("went MIA and hasn’t returned any of my calls or emails") after receiving full payment. This reviewer further states that they subsequently discovered the attorney was disbarred on August 13, 2024, and expresses frustration over the lack of communication prior to this alleged disbarment. The reviewer also notes a rapid response from the attorney only when disputing the credit card charges used for payment, contrasting this with the alleged lack of response to direct client communications.
The second review echoes similar concerns about unprofessionalism and lack of communication. The client states that they paid a portion of the requested fee to begin work but experienced a failure to return phone calls or emails. This resulted in the client needing to seek alternative legal representation and incur additional costs. The reviewer also expresses disappointment based on the attorney's identity as a black lawyer and the client's own status as a Navy veteran on a fixed income, highlighting a sense of unmet expectation regarding professional courtesy and service.
Based on these two reviews, a significant feature that emerges is a pattern of alleged poor communication and unprofessional conduct. The first review raises a very serious concern regarding a reported disbarment and a failure to provide services after receiving payment. The second review corroborates the issue of unreturned communications and the resulting negative impact on the client. These alleged behaviors stand in stark contrast to the professional standards expected of legal practitioners.
Regarding the services offered by Van Johnson & Associates, the reviews provide limited information. The first review mentions the client hiring the firm to "handle a case," but the specific nature of this case is not disclosed. The second review indicates the client sought legal assistance to "file with," again without specifying the area of law. Therefore, based solely on these reviews, it is not possible to objectively detail the specific legal services that Van Johnson & Associates claims to provide or has historically offered. The alleged disbarment of an attorney associated with the firm, if accurate, would also significantly impact the firm's ability to offer legal services.
There is no information available in the provided data regarding any promotional offers or unique features of Van Johnson & Associates that might attract clients. The overwhelmingly negative nature of the two reviews serves as a critical point of consideration for any potential clients searching for legal representation in the "Lawyers Near Me" category.
For local users in Atlanta searching for legal representation, the information presented in these reviews should be carefully considered. The allegations of a disbarment, coupled with complaints of non-communication and unprofessional behavior, raise significant red flags. Potential clients are strongly advised to conduct thorough independent research and verification regarding the current professional standing and reputation of Van Johnson & Associates and any attorneys associated with the firm before making any decisions about engaging their services. This research should include checking with the Georgia Bar Association for up-to-date information on the licensing status of any attorneys at the firm.
In conclusion, the available information regarding Van Johnson & Associates, based on the provided client reviews, presents a concerning picture. Allegations of a disbarment and consistent complaints of poor communication and unprofessional conduct are serious matters that potential clients in the "Lawyers Near Me" category should be aware of. Due to the gravity of these allegations, it is imperative that individuals seeking legal services in Atlanta exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence before considering Van Johnson & Associates. Contacting the Georgia Bar Association to verify the licensing status of any attorneys associated with the firm is strongly recommended as a crucial step in this process. Sep 10, 2024 · Wendell Holmes Jr.Anthony is very unprofessional. I have paid him a portion of the fee requested to start the process. He never returns phone calls or emails. So now I have to find another lawyer to file with and pay more money. As a black lawyer I expected more from him. As a Navy veteran on a fixed income I don’t have to give.
Jan 10, 2023 · Nikya SealsWe had a drunk driving incident with a member of our family. When the insurance company was trying to fight us we came to Anthony Johnson for some help. He made us feel much more in control over the situation and gave us a lot of useful and relevant information that helped us stand strong until our case was positively resolved. I truly pray that nobody ever has to go through the turmoil that our family did.
Oct 23, 2021 · Melody PowellI am impressed by how well Mr. Johnson explained everything to me and helped me see what each step meant for my case. He didn't surprise me with charges. He took the time to make sure I fully understood, and we won the case. I couldn't be happier.
Nov 05, 2021 · Rebecca WellsI should have read the reviews before hiring him. He was professional until he received the money. Afterwards he stopped calling, stopped texting and stopped emailing. He kept saying that we had a case and that was not the case. This man is a FRAUD!! I don’t recommend him and we are in the process of trying to get our money back.
