I had the pleasure of working with Weider & Weider, they were my attorneys during the sales process of a home I had just purchased. Laura in particular was so great in her handling of the whole process and really put my best interests first. The firm was always available and always provided timely responses. If you want a seamless home buying or selling process, I highly recommend using this firm.
For individuals in the Yonkers, New York area navigating the complexities of real estate transactions, the "Lawyers Near Me" platform offers a directory of legal professionals who can assist with the process. Among these firms is Weider & Weider, located at 35 E Grassy Sprain Rd # 403. Based on available online reviews, the firm appears to offer services related to real estate law, particularly in the context of buying and selling homes. However, client experiences seem to vary, indicating a need for careful consideration when engaging their services.
Weider & Weider operates from their office in Yonkers, providing a local point of contact for those in the surrounding communities involved in real estate transactions. The environment of their office space is not described in the provided reviews. However, the nature of legal services typically involves a professional setting where clients can discuss confidential matters and receive expert advice.
One positive review highlights a client's "pleasure of working with Weider & Weider" during the purchase of a home. This client specifically praised Laura for her handling of the entire process, emphasizing that she "really put my best interests first." Furthermore, the review noted the firm's accessibility and timely responses, concluding with a strong recommendation for a "seamless home buying or selling process." This positive feedback suggests that, in some instances, Weider & Weider, and specifically Laura, can provide excellent service characterized by client focus, availability, and efficiency.
However, a contrasting and significantly more detailed negative review presents a different perspective on the services provided, particularly concerning communication and attention to detail. This client recounts a challenging experience working with Laura Giacomini during a home purchase. The timeline involved a hard deadline for signing, and the client alleges a lack of timely communication regarding the contract. Despite assurances from the client's agent that the contracts were available, the client claims to have received no communication from Laura Giacomini until three days before the deadline.
The negative review further details difficulties in reaching Laura Giacomini by phone and email to discuss the agreement and request revisions. The client describes feeling that Laura was "eager to get me off the phone" and "annoyed" by their questions. The review also mentions concerns the client identified by independently researching the property through city records, which the client felt were dismissed by Laura Giacomini with a general statement about title clearance.
A critical point in the negative review is the alleged lack of communication leading up to the signing deadline. The client claims that Laura Giacomini did not call, email, text, or leave a voicemail with updates, leaving both the client and their agent "in the dark." The client also disputes Laura's claim of attempting to call, stating that their phone was functioning correctly with no missed calls. Ultimately, the client reports that Laura Giacomini sent revision requests to the seller's agent without first discussing the amendments with the client, leading to the termination of their professional relationship.
Beyond the communication issues, the negative review also points out a "misspelled" company name on Weider & Weider's own website, suggesting a potential lack of attention to detail. This observation, while seemingly minor, contributed to the client's overall negative impression of the firm's professionalism.
Considering these contrasting experiences, it is challenging to provide a definitive assessment of Weider & Weider. The positive review indicates the potential for a smooth and client-focused real estate transaction, at least in some cases. The negative review, however, raises significant concerns about communication, responsiveness, and client service, particularly under time-sensitive conditions. For local users in Yonkers seeking real estate legal assistance through "Lawyers Near Me," it would be prudent to consider both perspectives.
If you are considering engaging Weider & Weider for your real estate needs, particularly with Laura Giacomini, it may be beneficial to inquire specifically about their communication protocols, typical response times, and their process for handling contract reviews and amendments. Understanding their approach to client interaction and ensuring a clear line of communication from the outset could be crucial for a positive experience.

Aug 08, 2020 · Bobby DiNapoliLack of good communication made working with Laura Giacomini impossible. I was given a hard deadline by sellers agent to sign for a home buy. Laura Giacomini was commissioned to represent me through my agent. My agent assured me in writing (email) that she had the contracts in hand 6 days before the deadline. 3 days before the deadline I had still received no form of communication from Laura. I contacted her Monday (3 days before deadline) and she said she had still not received the contracts from the sellers agent. Sellers agent claims to have sent the contract to her three days prior. Laura claims it was due to an email problem that she didn't receive the contract. Laura contacted the sellers agent and was able to get copies by midday Monday. I asked her to send me copies so that I could review the first draft and request several additions to the rider agreement. From Mon-Tues I attempted to reach Laura by phone and email to ask questions about the agreement and talk to her about revisions. I got through to her once on Monday after many attempts. She was eager to get me off the phone and seemed annoyed by my questions. I tried calling several more times that day when she did not call me back as promised, but didn't reach her again until Tuesday. In that time, I had discovered some concerns about the property by looking it up in the dept of buildings and other city records. Laura again seemed annoyed by my questions and just said, "the title would have to clear" so don't worry about it. She ended that conversation by saying she would call be back before the end of the work day. She didn’t. With 24 hours to go before the deadline Laura didn't call me, leave a voicemail, send a text, or write an email to let me know what was happening. By the morning of the deadline, Laura had finally responded to one of my emails, not to answer my question about the contract status but to claim to have tried calling me twice the day before and that “something must be wrong with my phone.” She claims my phone didn’t go to voicemail. However, my phone was in perfect cell reception with the ringer on during the time-frame she says that tried calling with no missed calls showing (no, I wasn’t in the subway). Again she didn't email me. Furthermore, she did not reach out to provide my agents with any updates so as of Wednesday morning, both my agent and I were in the dark. I called her Wednesday and she informed me that she had already sent revision requests to sellers agent without speaking to us first or asking us about amendments. We parted ways at that point. Buying a home is a big purchase. Your attorney should “have your back.” Laura Giacomini wasn’t willing to offer any kind of legal counsel on the contracts in question, and was virtually impossible to reach for questions. On a less but still important note, the name of their company is misspelled on their own website. That just doesn’t bode well for their attention to detail.
