Honestly the most unprofessional lawyer I have ever met with. Took over 6 months to have my first phone call and meeting with him which took place 1 week before my court date and I fired him a week after that. When we met he knew none of my case details and disregarded any of the things I had to say. His secretary was very unprofessional as well and lied about trying to call me numerous times until I mentioned that I requested my phone log from my cellular company it was then brushed off. I have no idea how he’s been an attorney for 20 years with not ONE review. He did answer my call within 15 minutes after I fired him which seemed fitting sense he “was too busy to talk” ALL of the time until then. I’m a very very passive person and normally would never leave a bad review unless I found it absolutely necessary. Be super carful.

The operational environment of Robert C. Andrews' law office, as suggested by the provided reviews, presents a mixed picture. While one review praises the "Great staff" and describes the attorney as "Professional, knowledgable and honest," indicating a positive and supportive atmosphere, another review raises significant concerns about professionalism and communication. The latter client's experience of delays in contact, lack of case familiarity during a meeting, and communication issues with the secretary points to potential inconsistencies in client service and internal processes. However, the positive mention of "Heather-Anne for staying on top of everything" suggests that dedicated support staff are present and can be a valuable asset to the firm's operations. An effective legal environment aims to balance professionalism with clear, timely communication, ensuring clients feel informed and cared for throughout their legal journey.

OUI (Operating Under the Influence) Defense: This often falls under the umbrella of criminal defense, and it is a common area for attorneys in general practice to handle, especially in traffic-related offenses.
Family Law: Legal directories often list family law as one of his practice areas. This would typically include divorce, child custody, child support, and other domestic relations matters.

However, the highly critical review also forms part of his public profile and can impact potential clients' perceptions. Andrews in March 2019, which resulted in an "Award to Respondent." This means the panel ruled in his favor regarding a fee dispute. While this is a public record, its specifics relate to fee arbitration rather than disciplinary action concerning attorney conduct, though it is part of his overall professional history.
In conclusion, Robert C. Andrews, as presented on a "Lawyers Near Me" platform, is an attorney with over 25 years of experience practicing in Portland, ME, in areas such as criminal defense, OUI, family law, and personal injury. While one client highly recommends him for his professionalism, knowledge, honesty, and hard work, another client reported significant issues with communication, case preparedness, and staff professionalism. For local users seeking legal services, these varying perspectives highlight the importance of individual due diligence, including initial consultations and clear communication of expectations, when selecting an attorney. His long tenure in the field, coupled with a positive mention of his support staff, suggests a firm with potential to deliver positive results, but the recorded concerns also warrant consideration.
