WARNING !!! To anyone who appeals their criminals case through this so called 'project'. The owner is for profit and his name is attorney # 73556 Richard Lennon. If you were arraigned and didn't say a word and never asked for a public defender (or in fact you were not there), that may be ILLEGAL and Unconstitutional. Richard aka Rick told me every public defender is doing it and it's called 'drive thru arraignments'. Don't believe me? Google penal code 987.Richard lost my case on purpose so my news story would never make it out. My hope is for everyone to view this review BEFORE contacting this project. This is now the 2nd loss the project created for me. Now IRS.

California Appellate Project Introduce

The California Appellate Project (CAP) is located at 520 S Grand Avenue, Unit 400, in the downtown area of Los Angeles, California. Situated in a multi-unit building in the city's legal and business district, CAP appears to be an organization focused on providing legal assistance related to criminal appeals. The office in Unit 400 suggests a professional environment where legal casework, client communication, and administrative functions are conducted. The downtown location provides accessibility for individuals and legal professionals involved in appellate matters within the Los Angeles County Superior Court system and the California Courts of Appeal.

The environment of Unit 400 at 520 S Grand Avenue is likely to be that of a standard legal office, equipped with the necessary resources for attorneys and staff to review case records, conduct legal research, and communicate with clients and the courts. While specific details about the office's interior or amenities are not available, it can be inferred that the space is designed to facilitate the complex and detail-oriented work involved in appellate law.

The California Appellate Project can be contacted by phone at (213) 243-0300 or through the mobile number +1 213-243-0300. These direct contact lines provide a means for individuals seeking assistance with criminal appeals or legal professionals looking to collaborate with the organization. The availability of both numbers suggests a commitment to accessibility for those requiring their services.

As a listing in the "Lawyers Near Me" category, the California Appellate Project specifically caters to individuals seeking legal assistance with criminal appeals in the Los Angeles area. Appellate law is a specialized field that focuses on reviewing decisions made by lower courts. Attorneys specializing in criminal appeals work to identify errors of law or procedure that may have occurred during the trial or sentencing phases of a criminal case. If such errors are found, an appellate court may overturn the conviction or sentence, or order a new trial.

The services typically provided by an organization like the California Appellate Project might include:

  • Case Evaluation: Reviewing trial records and lower court decisions to determine if there are grounds for appeal.
  • Legal Research: Conducting in-depth research on relevant case law and statutes to support appellate arguments.
  • Brief Writing: Preparing persuasive legal briefs that present the appellate arguments to the court.
  • Oral Argument: Presenting arguments before the appellate court judges.
  • Post-Conviction Relief: Exploring other legal avenues for challenging a conviction or sentence, such as habeas corpus petitions.

It is important to carefully consider the customer reviews provided for the California Appellate Project. One review issues a strong warning: "WARNING !!! Now IRS."

This review makes serious allegations against attorney Richard Lennon and the California Appellate Project. The reviewer claims that Lennon is the "owner" (though the precise organizational structure is not specified) and alleges that he intentionally lost the reviewer's case to suppress a news story. The review also mentions concerns about "drive thru arraignments" and potential illegal and unconstitutional practices related to the appointment of public defenders. The reviewer strongly advises others to view this review before contacting the project, citing two losses allegedly created by the organization. These are significant accusations that raise serious concerns about the quality and integrity of the legal services provided.

It is crucial to note that this is a single, albeit highly critical, review. However, the severity of the allegations, including intentional loss of a case and potentially unethical practices, should be carefully considered by anyone contemplating using the California Appellate Project for their criminal appeal. Potential clients should seek further information and potentially consult with other legal professionals to get a more comprehensive understanding of the organization's reputation and practices.

The second review provided is entirely unrelated to legal services and appears to be for a hotel: "This hotel was amazing. They had really good staff and the rooms were beautiful. I also really loved the pressure in the showers. The lobby is just gorgeous with a beautiful ceiling view. I really recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere to stay in LA." This review should be disregarded as it is not relevant to the California Appellate Project or their legal services.

Given the serious allegations in the negative review, it is difficult to identify specific "features" or "promotional information" that can be objectively presented based on the provided data. The negative review serves as a significant warning that overshadows any potential positive attributes that might otherwise be inferred. Potential clients would need to conduct extensive due diligence beyond this single review to ascertain the true nature and quality of the services offered by the California Appellate Project.

For local users in the "Lawyers Near Me" category seeking assistance with criminal appeals and encountering the California Appellate Project, it is strongly recommended to:

  • Exercise extreme caution due to the serious allegations raised in the negative review.
  • Conduct thorough research on the California Appellate Project and Richard Lennon, including checking their standing with the California State Bar and seeking information from other sources.
  • Seek multiple opinions from independent appellate attorneys regarding their case and potential representation options.
  • Ask detailed questions about the organization's structure, attorney qualifications, case handling procedures, and client communication practices.
  • Carefully review any agreements or contracts before engaging their services.

The information available online presents a stark contrast between a potentially helpful organization for criminal appeals and serious allegations of misconduct. Without further corroborating information or alternative reviews, it is challenging to provide an objective introduction that highlights positive features or promotional aspects. The primary takeaway from the provided data is the need for extreme caution and thorough investigation by any potential client.

In conclusion, the California Appellate Project, located at 520 S Grand Ave UNIT 400 in downtown Los Angeles, appears to offer legal assistance for criminal appeals. However, a critical customer review raises significant concerns about the organization's practices and the conduct of attorney Richard Lennon. Local users in the "Lawyers Near Me" category should be aware of these serious allegations and are strongly advised to conduct extensive due diligence and seek multiple legal opinions before considering engaging the California Appellate Project for their appellate needs. The unrelated positive hotel review should be disregarded.
