I had an extremely disappointing experience with Attorney John Longo at Longo Law. I initially reached out to him to file a civil suit. Mr. Longo assured me he would take my case, even going so far as to sign an engagement agreement and sell me a big dream. However, shortly after that, he completely disappeared. As a lawyer, this kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but completely unacceptable. Mr. Longo stopped responding to emails, texts, and calls — showing a total lack of decency and respect for his clients. I will be filing a formal complaint with the bar association regarding his conduct. I strongly urge anyone considering Longo Law to stay far away. Looks like his other reviews tell the same tale. Save yourself the frustration, wasted time, and disappointment.

Citadel Consumer Law, John Longo, Esq. Introduce

When seeking legal representation for consumer law matters or civil suits in Providence, Rhode Island, it is essential to choose an attorney who is not only knowledgeable but also reliable and communicative. Citadel Consumer Law, with Attorney John Longo, Esq., located at 996 Smith St in Providence, RI 02908, is listed under the "Lawyers Near Me" category. However, recent client reviews available online paint a concerning picture of the firm's professionalism and client communication practices, which potential clients should carefully consider.

The physical location of Citadel Consumer Law on Smith Street in Providence suggests a local presence within the community, which might typically be seen as an advantage for accessibility. However, the experiences shared by recent clients raise significant questions about the firm's operational environment and client relations practices.

Two detailed client reviews describe profoundly negative experiences with Attorney John Longo. The first reviewer states they had an "extremely disappointing experience" after reaching out to file a civil suit. According to this review, Mr. Longo initially agreed to take the case, even signing an engagement agreement and creating optimistic expectations. However, the reviewer alleges that shortly thereafter, Mr. Longo "completely disappeared." This disappearance reportedly involved a complete cessation of communication, with Mr. Longo allegedly failing to respond to emails, texts, and calls. The reviewer characterizes this behavior as "not only unprofessional but completely unacceptable" and indicates an intention to file a formal complaint with the bar association.

This first review strongly urges potential clients to "stay far away" from Longo Law, noting that other reviews seemingly corroborate this negative experience. The reviewer advises others to "save yourself the frustration, wasted time, and disappointment."

The second review echoes a similarly troubling experience. This client believed they had found a "professional & reliable attorney" in John Longo after answering his questions and meeting to review documents. Mr. Longo reportedly accepted the case, stating it had merit, and the client retained his services. Following a few productive initial exchanges, the client alleges that Mr. Longo "suddenly ignored all my calls & emails." This lack of communication purportedly persisted for six months, with the client attempting to reach him weekly. Eventually, after this extended period of silence, Mr. Longo allegedly contacted the client to schedule a phone call, which he then failed to make, followed by another period of ignoring calls and disappearing.

Adding to the severity of this account, the second reviewer claims that Mr. Longo never returned their money, provided an explanation of how it was spent, offered a referral to another attorney, or executed any professional withdrawal from the case. The client expresses uncertainty about how to proceed and is considering seeking legal assistance and filing a formal legal complaint.

Based on these two detailed and highly critical reviews, it is difficult to ascertain the specific consumer law services Citadel Consumer Law, through Attorney John Longo, may claim to offer. The focus of these accounts is not on the successful delivery of legal services but rather on alleged severe deficiencies in professional conduct and client communication.

The features that emerge from these reviews are overwhelmingly negative and include:

  • Unprofessional Behavior: Allegations of disappearing after accepting a case and signing an engagement agreement.
  • Lack of Communication: Repeatedly ignoring client emails, texts, and calls for extended periods.
  • Disregard for Clients: Showing a reported "total lack of decency and respect" for clients.
  • Failure to Provide Services: Allegedly accepting cases and retaining fees without providing the promised legal work.
  • Failure to Return Unearned Fees: Retaining client funds without providing an explanation or refund.
  • Lack of Professional Withdrawal: Abandoning cases without formally withdrawing or providing alternative assistance.
  • Potential Pattern of Misconduct: The first reviewer suggests that other reviews tell a similar story.

Given the serious nature of these allegations, potential clients should exercise extreme caution when considering Citadel Consumer Law and Attorney John Longo. The experiences described by these reviewers raise significant concerns about the attorney's reliability, professionalism, and commitment to his clients' needs.

There is no promotional information available in the provided data for Citadel Consumer Law, John Longo, Esq. In this context, the absence of positive client testimonials and the presence of serious negative reviews serve as a critical warning to prospective clients.

For local users in Providence, Rhode Island, searching within the "Lawyers Near Me" category for consumer law or civil suit representation, the recent experiences shared by these two clients regarding Citadel Consumer Law and Attorney John Longo, Esq. are crucial to consider. The allegations of unprofessional conduct, failure to communicate, and mishandling of client funds and cases should prompt potential clients to thoroughly investigate further and consider seeking legal representation elsewhere to avoid similar negative experiences. Contacting the firm at (401) 383-7550 or +1 401-383-7550 might provide the firm's perspective, but the detailed and concerning nature of the public reviews warrants significant caution.

I thought I had found a professional & reliable attorney to take my case. I answered all John Longos' questions & met with him to review documents. He accepted my case as he said it was merited & I retained his services. After few very productive exchanges, he suddenly ignored all my calls & emails. This ignoring continued on for six months. After trying to reach him WEEKLY he finally he got back to me & requested a phone call meeting the next day to which I agreed, he then never called me & ignored my calls & he went missing again. Bizarre & worrisome behavior not to mention, he never gave me my money back, nor an explanation or record of how it was spent. He still has not gotten back to me with any type referral nor executed any type of professional exit plan in the middle of a case. I am currently wondering what to do, looking for legal assistance & insuring about a formal legal complaint.

I have had John working on a case for years and when it was coming to an end I cannot get a hold of him for a year now I’m trying to find out what’s going on with my case. I don’t know if it was settled and he kept the money but he will not call me back I’ve left incredible amounts of messages on their answering machine and with the secretary and also emailed no response back so be careful.
