Cohen Group has been incredible. I stepped in to help my grandfather thinking he was being taken advantage of during a situation with the insurance company, and it was very much far from the truth. From the front desk, to the paralegals, and to the attorneys directly, it has been one of the easiest most transparent business dealings ive ever encountered with a law firm. No only are their rates considerably lower than most, they are skilled and professional. I would like to end this review by saying, if "I" go out of my way to give a review, its worth considering because I don't spare time to do it as often as I should. I hope you have the same experience we has. Most Definitely 5 stars!

Cohen Law Office, LLC Introduce

For individuals in Hiram, Georgia, and the surrounding Paulding County area seeking legal representation, Cohen Law Office, LLC, located at 848 Hiram Acworth Hwy #100, Hiram, GA 30141, USA, is a local law firm accessible through the "Lawyers Near Me" platform category. The firm can be contacted at (678) 384-1113 or via their mobile number, +1 678-384-1113, for inquiries about their legal services.

The online reviews for Cohen Law Office, LLC present contrasting experiences, highlighting both positive and negative aspects of their client service. One reviewer expresses exceptional satisfaction, referring to the "Cohen Group" (presumably Cohen Law Office, LLC) as "incredible." This client initially intervened in a situation involving their grandfather and an insurance company, anticipating potential exploitation, but found the firm to be highly transparent and easy to work with. The positive feedback extends from the front desk and paralegals to the attorneys themselves. This reviewer specifically praises the firm's rates as "considerably lower than most" while also emphasizing their skill and professionalism. The client concludes with a strong five-star recommendation, noting that their personal effort to leave a review signifies its importance and their hope for others to have a similar positive experience.

In contrast, another reviewer shares a significantly negative experience, initially intending to leave a one-star review but opting for two stars solely due to the initial kindness and helpfulness of their main point of contact, Kim McNelis. This positive interaction reportedly lasted until the end of the transaction, aside from some email issues potentially on the client's end.

The negative experience details a real estate transaction where Cohen Law Office, LLC represented the buyer, and the reviewer was the executor of the seller's (their Uncle's) estate, assisting from out of state (New York). The reviewer claims that despite informing the firm from the outset about their role and their Uncle's desire to use the reviewer's account for funds, the firm did not explicitly state any limitations on communication or the feasibility of the fund transfer until the closing process was underway. The reviewer was kept on all email threads, leading to the assumption of shared understanding and coordination.

The situation reportedly deteriorated after the closing when the funds were not deposited as expected. While the issue was identified as the inability to deposit funds directly into the reviewer's account (as the Uncle's name was not on it), the reviewer criticizes the firm for not clarifying this restriction earlier in the process. The communication regarding this issue reportedly shifted to another staff member, Holly, whose engagement was described as "distant and cold."

Further issues arose concerning the transfer of the wire confirmation to the Uncle, who has Alzheimer's and dyslexia. The reviewer alleges receiving "sporadic condescending emails" from Holly stating an inability to reach the Uncle, despite the Uncle's denial of any missed calls. The firm then reportedly cited the reviewer's lack of legal involvement in the closing as the reason for not being able to communicate directly or provide the confirmation numbers, despite prior communications. The reviewer expresses significant displeasure with the perceived lack of attention to their needs and the stressful and callous handling of the situation, particularly given the Uncle's health condition. The reviewer believes that proactive communication and a focus on their stated intentions could have prevented significant stress and facilitated a smoother process.

Based on these reviews, the environment and services of Cohen Law Office, LLC appear to be inconsistent. One client experienced a transparent, efficient, and cost-effective service with a friendly and helpful staff. This suggests a potential for positive client interactions and satisfactory outcomes, possibly highlighting the strengths of individuals like Kim McNelis.

However, the other review indicates potential shortcomings in communication, proactive problem-solving, and client sensitivity, particularly with certain staff members like Holly. The allegations of not clarifying crucial information early on, distant communication, and a lack of empathy for a vulnerable client raise concerns about the firm's overall client care and attention to detail in certain transactions.

The services offered by Cohen Law Office, LLC, based on these reviews, appear to include real estate transactions (representing the buyer) and potentially estate-related matters (given the reviewer acting as an executor). The positive review suggests efficiency, transparency, competitive rates, and skilled legal work as potential features. The negative review, however, points to potential issues with communication clarity, proactive guidance, client support, and sensitivity to individual circumstances.

There is no promotional information or special offers mentioned in the provided reviews for Cohen Law Office, LLC.

For local users in Hiram, GA, searching within the "Lawyers Near Me" category, Cohen Law Office, LLC presents a mixed profile. While one client reports an outstanding experience with transparent service and competitive rates, another details significant issues with communication, client support, and the handling of a real estate transaction involving a vulnerable individual. Prospective clients should carefully weigh these contrasting experiences and consider seeking additional information or references to gain a more balanced understanding of the firm's service quality and client interactions before making a decision.

In conclusion, Cohen Law Office, LLC in Hiram, GA, has received both high praise for transparent service and competitive rates, and strong criticism regarding communication, client support, and sensitivity in a real estate transaction. The contrasting experiences suggest variability in client satisfaction, and local users should approach with caution and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging their services.

The only reason I am leaving a two star review vs. a one star that accurately reflects the disrespect that I feel in the moment, is because up until the end of this transaction my main point of contact, Kim McNelis, was quite kind and helpful. Aside from some glitches in emails probably due to my own inbox issues, they were great. I informed them from the very beginning of our communication that I was the executor of my family's estate that my Uncle was the sole owner of the property and that I wasn't sure what, if any part of the sale transaction I needed to be a part of. The Cohen law firm represented the buyer in this instance. At no point during the signing of contracts or getting information from my Uncle did they inform me that they could not discuss or disclose information about the sale. They kept me on all email threads. Therefore, I thought we were all on the same page understanding that I was helping my Uncle with the sale of his house from NY. I also informed them that Uncle wanted to use my account for the funds. At no point in time did they as lawyers state that none of this was possible or that they could not communicate with me regarding me assisting my Uncle with this process. I even specifically asked for an in person closing so that way my Uncle would have people there explaining what he was signing and said this to them. Closing supposedly goes through without hitch. This is now when things go sideways. Money from closing isn't deposited and I'm helping my Uncle follow up, make calls etc. We find out that the issue is that he can't have the money deposited directly in my account, fine. This is my first issue, when we told them this was our plan the response to my email should have been Ms. Allen unless your Uncle's name is on that account we can't use that account, we would not have even been at this point. Also it is not Kim that mentions this, it is now Holly and the way she engages us is distant and cold. Its the end of the day so I give her a pass. My Uncle is battling Alzheimer's and is dyslexic. So this is his worst nightmare, we check where he's written down his account information and fact check it with the bank multiple times. When we finally feel confident that we have the right info I email it to Holly & Kim. Again at this point no one has stated that they can't contact me about this issue. So, of course first thing in the morning I ask them for the wire confirmation so my Uncle can take that to his bank since I know that on the bank end, their processing times can be longer. I have been in communication with my Uncle since 8am reminding him to keep an eye out for their confirmation email. Then sporadic condescending emails start coming in from Holly around 1:30 stating that she can't reach my Uncle. I reach out to him to find out if he received any calls, he says no calls. I'm emailing the office to try to find out what's the information that they need so I can let my Uncle know. Finally I get a flurry of emails that they can't speak to me since I am not legally a part of the closing which I am assuming is why they never sent the confirmation numbers. They finally tell me that it was deposited. I let them know that I was displeased by the way that I was treated and they just keep falling back at legalize. If they hadn't dropped the ball and paid attention to what our needs where and what we were attempting to do, the stress my Uncle experienced yesterday could have been avoided. Furthermore, I would have been able to help within my actual boundaries vs. over stepping. If someone had actually taken the human care to call me and state to me that they could clue me into everything that was happening but they could use my help in this way I would have obliged. Instead the tone was as if I was some sort of threat and very callous and made a very stressful and undesirable end to this process.

I had such a good experience when purchasing my home. Even when the mortgage system crashed on the day of closing Kim came through and was able to get my paperwork dated and closed the very next day. Wonderful staff Holly has and I would highly recommend them for closing on a home. Plus they have the best candy set out for their clients.

Holly is an AMAZING attorney!!! She made the process SO EASY & FAST! She & her team went above & beyond answering every question & helping us through the home buying process! Even after our closing she made sure we knew which steps to take for deeds, taxes & all the stuff that we were so unsure of, but Holly made all of it TOTALLY seamless & effortless! She is a vault of knowledge & the ONLY person I would recommend you have at the table with the life changing purchase of your home! THANK YOU HOLLY :)

Terrible experience even the second time around. So rude. They never call you back and are so condescending. I highly recommend going elsewhere.
