Buckle in…just came across some paperwork and it totally reminded me I never left these absolute criminals a review about my custody case! Back in 2017 my mom and I hired these people to fight a custody hearing. My daughter was up in Wisconsin with her grandparents (on vacation because they never got to see her and NOT a legal resident yet) during that period the mother of my child and I split up, she ran back to Wisconsin and immediately had me served with custody papers. I had just started a new job to support my family so there were no sick days or days I could call off on such short notice. Upon hiring these people we were nickel and dimed for everything and was told by the lawyer “we will file a motion to vacate as your daughter is not a legal resident of Wisconsin, you don’t have to goto the court date (6 and a half hours away) her case will come unraveled and she will be ordered to bring your daughter back to Illinois then you can file here” I asked many many times “are you sure I don’t have to go?” I was reassured that my presence was 100% NOT required. Now, I’ll give them this, they were correct I was not required to appear because my daughter wasn’t a legal resident of Wisconsin. HOWEVER, That was only true had they filed the motion to vacate in time to have the mother of my child served and to make the judge aware that the child was not a legal resident and had no jurisdiction in the matter. TELL ME WHY she was NEVER served and my mother and I had to call the sheriffs department up there to inform them of what courtroom she was in attempting to have her served before the judgment was entered! Even then they got there too late, the judgement for full custody had been entered. It doesn’t stop there, they were hired to perform a service which they undoubtedly failed to do so. Upon taking natters into my OWN hands and now having to hire a lawyer in Wisconsin these people would not offer ANY of the retainer back to assist in additional legal costs. It has ruined my life, my daughter’s life and if you value your family. STAY AWAY AND DO NOT LET THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE REPRESENT YOUR INTERESTS! This was a classical case of laziness and gross negligence and honestly I think I’m going to start looking into legal action against this firm now that I’m on my own two feet again. Either to recoup a portion of this cost and/or file a complaint with the bar just to make it known! Imagine paying someone THOUSANDS of dollars and putting your trust in them to do their job and fight for you and they just lay down and essentially do nothing. The outcome of this tragedy of a case? The mother of my child went almost two years without allowing me visitations or even the ability to speak with my daughter. To Davi law: I never got the chance to express to you how horribly disappointed I am in your service. Stick to criminal law because you clearly don’t have the know how or compassion to handle ANYTHING to do with families.
For individuals in the Joliet, Illinois area seeking legal representation through the "Lawyers Near Me" platform, Davi Law Group, LLC, located at 58 N Chicago St #102, Joliet, IL 60432, USA, is an option to consider. However, it is crucial to carefully review all available information, including customer feedback, to make an informed decision about legal representation. The following detailed account comes from a customer who utilized the services of Davi Law Group, LLC for a custody case and expresses significant dissatisfaction with the services provided.
The review begins with a strong and negative sentiment: "Buckle in…just came across some paperwork and it totally reminded me I never left these absolute criminals a review about my custody case!" This immediately signals a severely negative experience and suggests a high level of dissatisfaction with the firm's handling of the case.
The client recounts hiring Davi Law Group, LLC in 2017 to handle a custody hearing. The situation involved the client's daughter being in Wisconsin with her grandparents for a vacation period. During this time, the client and the child's mother separated, and the mother initiated custody proceedings in Wisconsin. The client, having recently started a new job with no available sick days or time off, faced an immediate legal challenge in a state six and a half hours away.
According to the review, the client and their mother experienced "nickel and dimed for everything" upon hiring Davi Law Group, LLC. The advice received from the lawyer at the firm was a critical point of contention. The lawyer reportedly stated that they would "file a motion to vacate as your daughter is not a legal resident of Wisconsin, you don’t have to goto the court date (6 and a half hours away) her case will come unraveled and she will be ordered to bring your daughter back to Illinois then you can file here." The client repeatedly inquired about the necessity of attending the Wisconsin court date, asking "are you sure I don’t have to go?" and was repeatedly reassured that their presence was "100% NOT required."
The review acknowledges a partial accuracy in the advice: "Now, I’ll give them this, they were correct I was not required to appear because my daughter wasn’t a legal resident of Wisconsin." However, the crucial caveat follows: "HOWEVER, That was only true had they filed the motion to vacate in time to have the mother of my child served and to make the judge aware that the child was not a legal resident and had no jurisdiction in the matter." This highlights a critical failure in the execution of the legal strategy.
The client then reveals the significant lapse in service: "TELL ME WHY she was NEVER served and my mother and I had to call the sheriffs department up there to inform them of what courtroom she was in attempting to have her served before the judgment was entered! Even then they got there too late, the judgement for full custody had been entered." This indicates a severe breakdown in the firm's responsibility to take timely and necessary action in the case, leading to a detrimental outcome for the client.
The negative experience did not end there. The client states, "It doesn’t stop there, they were hired to perform a service which they undoubtedly failed to do so. Upon taking natters into my OWN hands and now having to hire a lawyer in Wisconsin these people would not offer ANY of the retainer back to assist in additional legal costs." This raises concerns about the firm's accountability and willingness to support a client when their initial representation is deemed ineffective.
The client poignantly describes the impact of this legal failure: "It has ruined my life, my daughter’s life and if you value your family. STAY AWAY AND DO NOT LET THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE REPRESENT YOUR INTERESTS!" This is a strong and direct warning to potential clients, expressing a belief that the firm's actions had severe and lasting negative consequences for their family.
The review concludes with the client's intention to pursue further action: "This was a classical case of laziness and gross negligence and honestly I think I’m going to start looking into legal action against this firm now that I’m on my own two feet again. Either to recoup a portion of this cost and/or file a complaint with the bar just to make it known!" This indicates the client's belief that the firm's conduct fell below the expected professional standards and warrants formal complaints or legal action.
The client also shares the tragic outcome of the case, allegedly due to the firm's inaction: "Imagine paying someone THOUSANDS of dollars and putting your trust in them to do their job and fight for you and they just lay down and essentially do nothing. The outcome of this tragedy of a case? The mother of my child went almost two years without allowing me visitations or even the ability to speak with my daughter." This paints a grim picture of the potential consequences of what the client perceives as inadequate legal representation.
Finally, the client directly addresses Davi Law Group, LLC with a scathing indictment of their services in family law matters: "To Davi law: I never got the chance to express to you how horribly disappointed I am in your service. Stick to criminal law because you clearly don’t have the know how or compassion to handle ANYTHING to do with families." This suggests that the client believes the firm may be more competent in a different area of law and expresses a lack of confidence in their handling of family law cases, particularly those involving sensitive issues like child custody.
Based solely on this detailed customer review, potential clients considering Davi Law Group, LLC, especially for family law matters such as custody disputes, should exercise extreme caution. This review raises serious concerns about the firm's communication, attention to detail, timely execution of legal strategies, and overall effectiveness in representing a client's interests in a complex custody case. The allegations of being "nickel and dimed," receiving assurances that proved detrimental, failing to take necessary action, and refusing to offer any refund after alleged failures are significant red flags.
While this is only one customer's account, and it is important to consider all available information and potentially seek perspectives from other sources, this review presents a deeply troubling experience. For local users in Taiwan who may have connections in the Joliet, Illinois area seeking legal assistance, particularly in family law, it would be prudent to share this information and advise their contacts to thoroughly investigate Davi Law Group, LLC and consider seeking alternative legal counsel.
The "Lawyers Near Me" platform provides a directory of legal services, but it is crucial for users to conduct their own due diligence beyond simply reviewing a firm's listing. This detailed account serves as a stark reminder of the importance of researching attorney reviews and potentially seeking multiple opinions before entrusting one's legal matters to a particular firm.
The absence of positive reviews or additional information in the provided data makes it challenging to present a balanced perspective. However, the detailed and highly critical nature of this one review warrants serious consideration by anyone contemplating hiring Davi Law Group, LLC, especially for family law cases. The allegations of negligence and the resulting negative impact on the client's life and relationship with their child are deeply concerning.
Potential clients should consider contacting Davi Law Group, LLC directly to understand their perspective on this matter and to inquire about their experience and approach to family law cases. It would also be wise to seek reviews from other clients and consult with other attorneys in the Joliet area to gain a more comprehensive understanding of Davi Law Group, LLC's reputation and expertise, particularly in the specific area of law relevant to their needs.
Given the severity of the issues raised in this review, it would be responsible for potential clients to proceed with extreme caution and to prioritize thorough research and due diligence before engaging the services of Davi Law Group, LLC, especially for family law matters. Exploring alternative legal representation options in the Joliet area may be a prudent course of action to ensure the best possible outcome for one's legal needs.
