I hired Adam D. Goodfarb to represent me in a dispute with my “landlord”. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the lack of progress and support I received. Despite my concerns, the lawyer seemed to favor the landlord's interests and failed to advocate effectively on my behalf. I had to fire the lawyer and seek new representation. I hope others can learn from my experience and make a more informed decision when choosing legal counsel.

May 17, 2024 · Eve MThanks to this firm I was able to stay in my loft apartment t, get repairs done and helped me as we transitioned to a residential certificate of occupancy. They work with a great architect. They specialize in loft law. I highly recommend!
Dec 28, 2023 · John KesselA very abusive attorney who is abusive towards Loft Law tenants. I don't think this loft law attorney has ever managed to legalize a building but focuses on buyouts. If you might be a client where some work is to be done, she will shame you, then play along with the landlord and pull even more money out of you at the same time, or work against you if you have the right strategy or goal in mind. This attorney works only with typical landlord architects, not loft law architects, which is a red flag. This loft law attorney may be one of the most unpleasant and toxic attorneys who will try to pull the strings behind your back in an unethical way. A very unprofessional, rude, overly subjective, and dishonest attorney whose work is based on gossip and shaming in the loft law scene. The experiences of other loft law tenants who shared their stories with me are heartbreaking, shocking, and very upsetting. A loft law attorney that actually abuses the Loft law. She will always fight with you and have the last word. This attorney's work is based on one successful case in the past, "Caldwell Vs. Maugenest." That has been the only case since 2012. I don't believe this attorney is the most respected in loft law. It's a rumor she spreads herself.
Jun 16, 2022 · A. L.Margaret Sandercock won a landmark case for me in the highest court in the State. She is tenacious, strategic, knowledgeable, and dedicated to her clients. I wouldn't be as strong in my building as a renter covered by the Loft Law had it not been for her. I have the fullest confidence in her, and I am sure her daughter Elizabeth Sandercock, also in the firm, is just as dedicated.
Oct 31, 2020 · Margaret MaugenestMargaret Sandercock was referred to us through a co-worker. The initial conversation that my partner had with her went well and he felt that we were in good hands. She was very knowledgeable and has years of experience in the industry. With this said... once we officially hired her, everything changed. I have never professionally dealt with someone who was so rude to their clients. Initially it seemed to just be an issue of miscommunication, however she took this misunderstanding to another level. Her words to us were extremely hurtful. She wrote us emails stating that we were not good communicators and let us know that she did not want to represent clients who operate in this manner. She advised us that the house we were working to purchase would not have a good re-sale value because it was a two-bedroom and most people do not want to purchase a two bedroom... I respect advice and constructive criticism, however this seemed to be a judgement of our budget as we were looking for a starter home and is what we can currently afford. It seemed that Margaret enjoyed arguing with us when she should have been more of an advocate FOR us. She offered to give us a recommendation of a foundation repair service and when we asked her for the phone number, she replied with providing the #, and adding the line 'why do I feel like I am wasting my time...'. I would NOT recommend Margaret's services to anyone. She was rude, impatient, abrasive, and argumentative.
