I just witnessed Mr. Madel in action and it was awesome. I observed from the packed gallery. Mr. Madel argued in front of the Honorable Judge Wahl in Hennepin County Court. If I'm not mistaken, it was/is a landmark first-amendment case, because this is the first case to be litigated under the new UPEPA in Minnesota. Mr. Madel and his team were defending their client against allegations of defamation. Mr. Madel argued in favor of a motion for expedited dismissal with prejudice under the UPEPA. This motion for expedited dismissal was difficult to present, in part because the plaintiff's tactic had been to stonewall, or so it appeared to me. Mr. Madel had to "shadow box," as he aptly put it. Mr. Madel left no stone unturned. Mr. Madel anticipated and argued every possible angle, with 40 citations of caselaw for one of the pivotal issues. Mr. Madel and his team were ultra prepared. Mr. Madel paired all of his verbal remarks with visuals of data, graphs, diagrams, and bullet points. He spoke with conviction. Cogent, concise, and very compelling. Mr. Madel was so effective, that the plaintiff's attorney couldn't dispute Mr. Madel--she tried to dismiss his sound legal arguments as "fancy jargon." Mr. Madel later responded that the words which she called "fancy jargon" are taken from the text of the law. Then it was the plaintiff's attorneys who spoke. While they were speaking mostly word salad through choked and trembling voices with no visuals, Mr. Madel was seated and worked at his laptop. Sure enough, when Mr. Madel gave his extemporaneous rebuttal, he had more visuals to pair with his verbal rebuttal--visuals which he had just prepared seconds prior while listening to the plaintiff's attorneys. Visuals are impactful, because seeing is believing. When challenged by the judge, Mr. Madel pulled case law out of his head with fluidity and ease. Then Mr. Madel deftly used the opposing attorney's faulty reasoning to further his client's cause. It was so fun to watch. On top of that, it was readily apparent that the judge holds Mr. Madel in the highest regard. How many lawyers can tell a judge that the judge was wrong on something in the past and have the judge respond with a smile? They had great banter. Btw, much respect to this judge who challenged Mr. Madel at every turn. I think I witnessed Mr. Madel's flow state. At certain moments, it was really hard not to cheer. It'll be up to 60 days before we know the judge's decision. The judge may perhaps be reluctant to set precedent under UPEPA. No matter the outcome, if I ever need legal representation, I'm calling Mr. Madel's firm.

I had two cases, one in 2015 out of state and in 2018 here in MN and both of the times I have been helped with respect and have nothing but positive experience with Madel Pa law firm. After first case Christopher madel, the owner and lead attorney made great impression of just a great person himself and professional and caring lawyer and showed great leadership in his office. So when I needed a great attorney a few years later I came back to Madel PA. This time one of the colleagues Todd was working on my case he did a great job. They can handle different types and levels of cases. Definitely recommend. Thank you for a great job!
