Unreal, The attorney estimated costs at 500-600 a month and before I'm ready to file they tell me the cost is going to be 1500-1600 a month. They expected me to live off of 40 dollars a day for 5 years (Told me to be "frugal" and lied about my actual expenses). Their staff was completely unaware of the basics of financial literacy. I will be filing a claim to reclaim the 500 dollars they charged me for: Collecting and reviewing your financial documents - I posted the documents Performing a full case and debt analysis to determine eligibility and potential payment amounts -- which I never would have agreed to. They knew I couldn't afford to pay less, so why would I agree to more? Conducting an income analysis to assess qualification under Chapter 13-- This is a fancy of saying they looked at my W-2. Covering the costs associated with your credit report and pre-filing credit counseling course-- Charge me for this. Advising you on your legal options and the feasibility of filing under Chapter 13.--No you didn't, and as a paralegal you aren't allowed to even do this... So did you? AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
