I needed to add my spouse's name to the title deed of two of our properties across two different counties and requested the service of Newman & Lawler PLLC in Fort worth, TX. Taressa Mathis from the firm handled the request by preparing the Warranty deed document and later filing with the counties for this purpose. All she needed was the addresses and my spouse's name which was to be added to the deed as Grantee. She researched the public records to find other details on the properties to prepare the warranty deed. She was very knowledgeable and guided me through the process. The turnaround time was less than 1 day with her preparing the document and sending over email/my signing in front of her as a notary by visiting her office at Fort worth. After my signing, Taressa had electronically filed with both the counties immediately and later before the end of the day she mailed back the recorded documents from both the counties. The cost of the whole process was less than $300 including recording fees for the counties. Very reasonable I would say. From the front desk lady (sorry forgot the name) who first answers the phone, the firm is very professional & friendly towards its clients. Taressa in particular was extremely easy to work with her understanding of the subject matter and her very earnest approach. As for my experience on the smoothness of this whole process I am giving 5 stars to the firm and yes 5 stars to Taressa Mathis as well!

Newman & Lawler: Lawler Jr James F Introduce

For local users in Fort Worth, Texas, seeking legal assistance, Newman & Lawler PLLC, with its key attorney Lawler Jr. James F., operates within the "Lawyers Near Me" platform category. This introduction aims to provide an objective and detailed overview of the firm, encompassing its environment, the scope of services offered, its distinguishing features, and relevant promotional insights, all based on publicly available information and client testimonials.

Newman & Lawler PLLC is located at 200 Bailey Ave Ste 100, Fort Worth, TX 76107, USA. This address places the firm in a professional and accessible area of Fort Worth, often associated with legal and business services. As a law firm situated in a multi-suite building, the environment within the office is designed to be professional, organized, and confidential. Clients can expect a setting where they can comfortably and discreetly discuss their legal matters. While specific visual details about the interior are not extensively publicized, professional legal offices typically maintain a clean and structured atmosphere conducive to focused legal consultations. The firm's location on Bailey Avenue further enhances its accessibility for clients within Fort Worth and the surrounding areas.

Newman & Lawler PLLC appears to offer a range of legal services, with a strong emphasis on property-related matters and potentially other areas of general practice. Based on the provided client reviews, a prominent area of service includes:

  • Real Estate Law, specifically Property Deed Transfers: One detailed review highlights the firm's efficient handling of adding a spouse's name to property title deeds across different counties. This involves preparing Warranty Deeds and filing them with the relevant county offices. The review specifically praises Taressa Mathis for her knowledge and efficiency in researching public records and guiding the client through the process. This indicates that the firm is adept at managing property transactions and ensuring proper documentation and filing.

While the provided snippets focus heavily on real estate matters, law firms of this nature often provide additional services. External information, if available, would typically indicate other practice areas such as:

  • Probate Law: Often intertwined with real estate, probate involves the legal process of validating a will and administering an estate after someone's passing. This includes ensuring assets are properly distributed. Given the firm's expertise in property deeds, handling probate cases where real estate is involved would be a natural extension.

  • Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning: Complementing probate, the firm may assist clients with drafting legal documents to plan for the distribution of their assets and care of their dependents.

  • Business Law: Many smaller firms offer general business legal services, which could include contract review, business formation, or dispute resolution for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Without further explicit information, an objective introduction must focus on the services directly evidenced, primarily property deed transfers within real estate law. The positive review clearly illustrates the firm's capacity in this specific area.

Several features contribute to the profile of Newman & Lawler PLLC, some of which are highlighted in the client testimonials. Firstly, professionalism and a friendly demeanor are consistently noted. The positive review states, "From the front desk lady... the firm is very professional & friendly towards its clients." This indicates a welcoming environment and a client-focused approach from the initial point of contact. This is crucial in the legal field, where clients often approach firms during stressful or complex times.

Secondly, the efficiency and prompt turnaround time demonstrated by the firm, particularly by Taressa Mathis, are significant features. The client recounts a process where the deed document was prepared and sent via email within less than a day, followed by immediate electronic filing and physical mailing of recorded documents by the end of the same day. This level of responsiveness and speed is highly commendable and a clear differentiator, especially in transactional legal services where timely completion is often critical. The cost of the process, noted as "less than $300 including recording fees," also suggests a reasonable and transparent pricing structure for certain services, which is a key advantage for clients.

Thirdly, the knowledge and guidance provided by the legal staff are highlighted. Taressa Mathis is praised for being "very knowledgeable and guided me through the process" with her "understanding of the subject matter and her very earnest approach." This indicates that the firm not only performs the necessary legal actions but also educates and supports clients, ensuring they understand each step of their legal journey.

However, it is imperative to address both positive and negative feedback for a balanced and objective introduction. A contrasting review explicitly states, "I asked very specific questions and was outright lied to. I sold 3 lots of land to an individual and Teresa never filed the paperwork. Now I am STILL being taxed on property that I do not own." This client expresses significant dissatisfaction, claiming a failure to file correct forms, leading to ongoing tax issues and a lack of accountability ("Teresa said she has nothing to do with it and to call the tax office"). This critical feedback points to potential issues with attention to detail, follow-through, and client communication for certain cases or individuals within the firm. The review also includes a general cautionary note that lawyers may not be necessary for simple land transfers, suggesting clients should be aware of the exact services they are paying for.

Regarding promotional information, the highly detailed positive review serves as a powerful testimonial, particularly for property deed transfer services. Its specific examples of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and professional guidance are strong selling points within the "Lawyers Near Me" category. The firm's commitment to being "very professional & friendly" is a general promotional attribute that contributes to a positive client experience.

The firm's contact information, phone: (817) 820-0551 and mobile phone: +1 817-820-0551, provides direct access for prospective clients. While no explicit offers like free consultations are detailed in the provided snippets, the emphasis on reasonable costs for certain services, as mentioned in the positive review, can act as an indirect promotional element, attracting clients seeking cost-effective legal solutions. The presence of Newman & Lawler PLLC in Fort Worth positions them as a local resource for individuals needing legal assistance in their community.

In conclusion, Newman & Lawler PLLC in Fort Worth, Texas, offers legal services with demonstrated efficiency and professionalism, particularly in property deed transfers, as highlighted by a very positive client experience. The firm is praised for its friendly approach, knowledgeable staff (specifically Taressa Mathis), and reasonable pricing for certain services. However, it is important for prospective clients to consider the contrasting review which raises concerns about organization, attention to detail, and follow-through in other property-related matters. For users searching on "Lawyers Near Me," Newman & Lawler PLLC presents itself as a firm capable of providing swift and professional assistance in specific real estate transactions, while also indicating the importance of careful inquiry regarding all aspects of their services and attorney assignments.

I asked very specific questions and was outright lied to. I sold 3 lots of land to an individual and Teresa never filed the paperwork. Now I am STILL being taxed on property that I do not own. When I reached out to find out why I still had a bill coming and it says the land is still in my name, Teresa said she has nothing to do with it and to call the tax office. Come to find out she didnt file the correct forms and now I am in a mess. FYI---you dont need a lawyer to transfer land out of your name. All theyre doing is creating the deed.

Selling a house to a gentleman who I had lease purchase agreement with. After dealing with Teresa Mathis for many months - this was a fairly complicated transaction, but none the less, she was supposed to have been an expert in it. I had already contacted the Housing and Manufactured home department in Austin, had filled out paperwork to put the land and home as one piece of property. I was recommended this firm by a real estate attorney in Lake Worth. I paid all of the closing costs and then she said she "overlooked" that payment. Each time I called her for an updated status, she was not in the office. Fast forward to 2022, she said she needed to talk to the future purchaser about HOA transfer and insurance. This was back in early April. She did not tell me she had not received a call back from him, so I called her as well as him in April and never heard back. I then called her again in mid May and she was driving and couldn't talk. I asked her if she had ever spoken with the gentleman. She said no, he never called back. I then called him again and left a message that Teresa was trying to contact him back in April and again in mid May. I told her this had been going on for sometime, so what is the issue now. She told me she needed to know if there were any transfer fees associated with the HOA as well as the 2021 taxes. I could have easily called the HOA and told her what the taxes were, but she said she needed to speak with the gentleman. I then called HOA as well as the tax office. The gentleman had paid the HOA dues, and the 2021 taxes. The HOA was still in my name so I was told to contact a Beth to get it taken out of my name and put into the gentleman's name. I sent her the Warranty Deed from Tarrant County and then she mentioned the gentleman may have died. I finally got in contact with his Son through multiple searches as well as spoke with his probate attorney who was going to handle it from here. I have YET to hear back from Teresa. Do not use this company. They are feet draggers and do not follow up, call you back and I believe she only works one day a week. Horrible Title company to deal with. I am hoping the families probate attorney can get all this straightened out.

This law group is unethical crooked liars and deceitful. We're substitute Trustee on my contract and because of them having a private conversation with the plantiffs attorneys they my case after charging me 500.00 and then literally lying about what the service agreement was. Dirty low life scum bags. DO NOT HIRE THESE SCUM BAGS.

We used this lawyer to close on a sale for a house we sold. We had an issue with the paralegal Debbie House during two closings. I mentioned this concern to their office and was told that I would have to get legal counsel from another attorney from now on. I would not recommend their services. This happened on two lien notes.
