A disappointing experience with OKS-Stockbridge. Before our closing, the lender had already funded the purchase. The attorney, Tanner Johnston, confirmed the funds were there but had us wait for nearly 1.5 AFTER closing. For a total of 2.5 hours to close! Ridiculous! This process is typically an hour or LESS. A very disjointed and deflated experience in the end. I’ve closed at this office several times with a different attorneys and hadn’t had any issues. A complete ball drop on this specific attorney’s part. The lender mentioned how frustrating this was for them as well. They gave specific instructions and approval prior to my client’s purchase to ensure it was a smooth and quick process.

Based on the available client feedback, the environment and overall experience at O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC in Stockbridge appear to be somewhat inconsistent, with both positive and negative experiences reported. One reviewer described a "disappointing experience" characterized by a significant delay during closing, despite the lender having already funded the purchase and the attorney confirming the availability of funds. This suggests potential inefficiencies or issues with the closing process handled by certain attorneys within the firm, specifically mentioning Tanner Johnston. The reviewer also noted a "disjointed and deflated experience," contrasting it with previous positive closings at the same office with different attorneys. This implies that the quality of service might vary depending on the specific legal professional handling the transaction.
In contrast, another reviewer reported a "wonderful home closing experience" with Vesi at the same law firm. This positive feedback highlights Vesi's friendly yet thorough approach to explaining and reviewing closing documents, leading to a satisfactory experience. This stark contrast in reviews suggests that while the firm may have capable and client-focused attorneys like Vesi, there might be inconsistencies in service delivery or process efficiency with other attorneys, as indicated by the negative experience with Tanner Johnston.
The services offered by O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC in Stockbridge, based on the context of the reviews, primarily revolve around real estate closings. This includes representing buyers, sellers, and lenders in residential and commercial property transactions. Their services likely encompass tasks such as reviewing and preparing closing documents, conducting title searches, ensuring clear title transfer, handling escrow funds, and facilitating the finalization of the real estate deal. The mention of delays and issues with the ALTA (American Land Title Association) settlement statement in the negative review further underscores their involvement in the intricacies of the closing process. The positive review highlights the importance of thorough explanation of closing documents, indicating that this is a service they aim to provide.
The features of O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC, as perceived through the lens of the provided reviews, present a mixed bag. A potential positive feature is the presence of friendly and thorough attorneys like Vesi, who prioritize client understanding and provide a positive closing experience. However, a significant concern is the potential for inefficiencies and delays in the closing process, as highlighted in the negative review regarding Tanner Johnston. The "complete ball drop" mentioned by the dissatisfied client suggests a lack of attention to detail or procedural issues that can lead to frustration and inconvenience for all parties involved, including the lender. The fact that the lender also expressed frustration indicates that such delays can have wider implications beyond the immediate clients.
The provided information does not contain any explicit promotional offers from O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC in Stockbridge. In the absence of such details, local users would need to rely on the firm's reputation, as reflected in both the positive and negative reviews, and their own direct interactions to assess the potential benefits and risks of choosing their services. The contrasting experiences suggest that prospective clients might want to specifically inquire about the attorney who will be handling their closing and potentially seek references or further information about their track record and efficiency.
For local users in Stockbridge, GA, searching for "Lawyers Near Me" for real estate closings, O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC is a geographically relevant option. However, the available client feedback presents a critical perspective that should be carefully considered. While one reviewer had a positive experience, the other detailed significant issues with delays and inefficiency. This highlights the importance of not solely relying on location when selecting legal representation, especially for time-sensitive transactions like real estate closings. Prospective clients may want to inquire about the specific attorney assigned to their case and their experience and reputation for smooth and timely closings.
The negative review specifically points to a substantial delay of 1.5 hours after the scheduled closing time, resulting in a total closing time of 2.5 hours, which the client rightly deemed "ridiculous." This delay occurred despite the lender having already funded the purchase and the attorney confirming the availability of funds, suggesting a breakdown in the firm's internal processes or communication. The error in the ALTA mentioned by a different client in a previous interaction (referenced within the negative review) further indicates potential issues with accuracy and attention to detail in their handling of closing documents. These issues can lead to significant stress and financial inconvenience for clients.
Conversely, the positive review praising Vesi for her friendliness, thoroughness, and clear explanations demonstrates that the firm is capable of providing excellent service. This discrepancy underscores the importance for potential clients to try and ascertain which attorney will be handling their case and to seek assurances of a smooth and efficient process. Asking about the firm's procedures for managing closing timelines and their communication protocols might help in making an informed decision.
In conclusion, O'Kelley & Sorohan, Attorneys At Law, LLC in Stockbridge, GA, offers local legal services for real estate closings. However, the available client reviews present a mixed picture, with one client reporting a significantly negative experience characterized by substantial delays and inefficiency, while another praised a different attorney for a wonderful closing experience. Local users searching within the "Lawyers Near Me" category should be aware of these contrasting experiences and may want to conduct further inquiry to ensure they receive the level of service they expect and deserve for their real estate transactions.

Mar 28, 2025 · Jennifer WilliamsI had a wonderful home closing experience with Vesi at this law firm. She was very friendly but yet thorough with all closing documents and took the time to really explain and review on what I was signing. If you are looking for a good attorney, I would definitely recommend this law firm.
Jul 12, 2024 · Brandon BookmanVery professional and courteous. I arrived at the office and received immediate acknowledgement. As I patiently waited for the lawyer I was offered something to drink. Mr Duffy was very professional and straightforward with regards to my closing. He walked me through the process and great detail and the total time spent was less than 10 minutes. What I liked most about O'Kelly and Sorohan is that they have a number of offices you can choose to handle your business. I chose the Stockbridge office since I stay on the southside of Atlanta. Highly recommend for your legal needs!
Aug 20, 2019 · Derrick RgrsWorst experience ever for buying my first home in Georgia!!! Customer service definitely is not the same across the board. Reply to the company’s response… The experience I speak of has absolutely nothing to do with the delays. Things happen! Its the lies, the speaking behind a customer’s back not realizing one person was in the office, its the whispering while two employees looked at me not acknowledging me then after their session of gossiping to say, what property are you here for. Its the final experience that was disappointing the signing of all documents. What should have been an amazing signing like I heard the customers before me have, it wasn’t. The signing was dry, the attorney’s dry congratulations and walk out the room with no handshake or picture with the key… again the experience was horrible. This is my 3rd closing within 2 years I know the excitement that goes behind buying a home. Your office putting a damper to an amazing moment. Regardless of the obstacles to get to the table amazing customer service stumps all that when a company or individual has that as a core value. Side note: your walls are thin and your employees body language speaks volume.
Jan 10, 2024 · Donata JI recently closed on my new house at the Stockbridge location of O'Kelley & Sorohan. The paperwork signing went pretty smoothly as expected. I was purchasing a property owned by Open Door Inc, which is represented by this firm. As part of my closing, the attorney's office was cutting checks to pay off several account balances that needed to be paid for me to qualify for my loan. I asked the closing attorney at signing how long it would take for the accounts to be paid off, and if I could pay an extra fee to have them overnighted. She told me that there was no need for that because any check they send out that is over the amount of $1,000 automatically gets sent by FedEx, which usually arrive within two days. That sounded great. However, after about a week, USAA, my homeowner's insurance company emailed me and said they had not been paid yet from the closing, and that I would owe the full balance on my next bill. That got me looking at the rest of the accounts that were supposed to be paid off. None of them had been paid. I went back to the attorneys office to inquire what had happened, and they told me that everything had been sent USPS Certified Mail instead of FedEx. That was very aggravating to have been misinformed like that. However, they gave me all of the tracking numbers for the checks that had been cut and sent out. Now, it is a full two weeks later, and I STILL have 3 accounts that have not received their payments yet. I know that doesn't sound like a huge thing, but in that amount of time, new payments had come due on the balances, so I had to make additional payments (which will leave me with credit balances on all of those accounts that I will have to pursue to get my money back). So, you can take this review as you like, but it was very aggravating to have been "misinformed" by the closing attorney about how this firm handles payments to companies on down the line. If you are like me, you probably go into a closing with no preference to the attorney who handles the paperwork, however, now I wish I had done some homework prior to closing. Thanks! Update: My closing attorney contact me and explained to me that their policy IS to send checks out via FedEx, but Open Door's policy is to send them out Certified Mail USPS. She also started tracking the checks for me, and is going to keep me updated via email. So that is very helpful. So, it sounds like my frustrations are with Open Door, not this firm. Good to know.
