Incompetent human being, totally worthless to the extent that I wonder who made this man a lawyer or how he got his license. He's a very bad person. I've never been in trouble with the law, I don’t even reside in dallas yet this man never returned my calls, never called, never showed interest. His wife or whoever is picking up his phone is even far worse. I was notified of the initial court date a day before, knowing fully well that I don't live in dallas, I had to make the hard 5 hour drive, which he intentionally made me repeat a couple of times for nothing. 3 months into the case and nothing, he was intentionally making it hard on me by driving up to dallas all the time and getting some gratification out of it. Can you imagine I was telling him what to file, yet he still refused to file those petitions intentionally. Definitely confrontational and a very bad listener, be warned Stephen will lie against you and claim to have evidence that doesn’t exist, very crooked old man. If a man like this is allowed to be a lawyer in dallas then the whole court system is flawed. I fired him, and he instantly became aggrieved, telling the prosecutor all manner of things, he is absolutely delusional. Zero star if possible.

The features of Stephen H. Miller, Attorney at Law, are presented with a significant disparity in public feedback. According to his firm's promotional materials, key features include extensive litigation experience since 1992, a strong understanding of the courts, and a commitment to being "always available" for clients, even in the middle of the night or early morning hours. He aims to give honest assessments and take the best approach forward for his clients.

However, the provided customer reviews offer a starkly different perspective. One client described their experience as encountering an "incompetent human being" who was "totally worthless." This review alleges that Mr. Miller "never returned my calls, never called, never showed interest," and "never showed up to court or returned our calls" after payment. The client further claims that Mr. Miller "stole our money" and intentionally made it difficult by requiring multiple unnecessary trips for a non-local client. The review escalates to accusations of being "confrontational and a very bad listener," alleging that Stephen Miller "will lie against you and claim to have evidence that doesn’t exist, very crooked old man." Upon firing him, the client states Mr. Miller "instantly became aggrieved, telling the prosecutor all manner of things," calling him "absolutely delusional."

Another negative review reinforces these concerns, stating, "By far the worst lawyer ever! This man is NOT a defense attorney." This client reported that despite being referred by a former coworker, they found Stephen to be "condescending and short" from the outset. They accused him of "doing absolutely nothing on my case" and losing "important paperwork." The client further alleged that Mr. Miller "accused me of being a liar and said he would need me to take a Lie Detector Test." This client also stated that a refund was refused after they fired him. The strong recommendation is "Please believe these reviews and do NOT hire Stephen no matter who refers you to him."

Given such highly critical and consistent allegations of non-performance, poor communication, loss of documents, and unprofessional conduct, potential clients must exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough independent research. While professional accolades from peer reviews exist, direct client experiences, particularly those detailing significant issues, are paramount in an objective assessment. It is important for any prospective client to verify all claims and assess their comfort level based on a full picture of available information, including directly contacting the State Bar of Texas for any disciplinary history, beyond what was provided in the initial information for this objective analysis. (While initial search results did not provide specific disciplinary history for the Texas Bar for Stephen H. Miller in criminal defense, the serious nature of the client allegations would warrant such direct inquiry by any potential client.)

For promotional information, Stephen H. Miller, Attorney at Law, offers a free initial consultation, which is a common practice among attorneys to attract new clients and allow for a preliminary discussion of their case. This is noted on his website and in various legal directories. His website also details his experience and practice areas, positioning him as an experienced criminal defense attorney in Plano and Garland. The firm's promotional efforts emphasize his dedication and accessibility, as well as his decades of experience fighting for clients in the courtroom.

In conclusion, Stephen H. Miller, Attorney at Law, in Plano, TX, specializes exclusively in criminal defense and presents himself as an experienced and aggressive advocate for his clients. By far the worst lawyer ever! This man is NOT a defense attorney. A former coworker recommended Stephen to me because his cousin worked for this lawyer in some capacity before. I had never been arrested or in trouble before and had no idea how the system works. I just knew I had bogus charges that I was prepared to fight. I spoke with Stephen and noticed right away he was condescending and short with me. In spite of that I trusted that he was a good lawyer and would fight for me. I told him I needed to get bogus charges dismissed as my accuser was a pathological liar and known for being a problem in Collin County. I threw money away on this lawyer who did absolutely nothing on my case. I knew I had to drop him after he accused me of being a liar and said he would need me to take a Lie Detector Test. He also had issues keeping the facts straight on my case and LOST important paperwork that I gave him. I fired him and requested a refund which he refused. I still hired a different lawyer who was far better, got my case dismissed and I am very happy now. Please believe these reviews and do NOT hire Stephen no matter who refers you to him. Hope this review helps others to not waste their time or money like I did.

Steve Miller was recommended by a former Co-worker. An MRI tech that worked for an outpatient surgery facility with me. Every interaction I had with Steve he spoke to me rudely and accusingly. He acted like I was nothing but a liar. The ONLY way I was able to make any sort of progress with convincing Steve, the legal representation who I was paying and praying would somehow get it through his own head that I was actually telling the truth, came to me suddenly when he was telling me what the report the officer had taken said, basically the PLAIN AS DAY contradictory statement made by the plaintiff. Although my attorney Steve never would have caught without me having to ‘draw him a picture and hold his hand’. The final day when I came to court I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after being SCREAMED AT SO LOUDLY AND THREATENING I expected a sheriff’s deputy to step in, utterly horrible.

Mr. Miller is a kind and caring individual and although very knowledgeable, does not have condescending attitude. He tells it like it is, gives good advice based on his experience and seem to have very good connections with the court system. But as any serious professional he will expect you do your part - simple stuff such as not be late for appointments, sign the documents on time, and follow the good advice, and he'll guide you well.

Worst Lawyer EVER!! If only I could give a ZERO... Not only was he rude and condescending the entirety of my case, but he is also ageist and sexist. He was consistently talking down to me about the occurrences that had led me to him. I understand that I made the wrong choice but for him to constantly berate me and tell me how I needed to get my act together was extremely unprofessional. He said multiple times that he didn't understand why my generation was always making stupid decisions. He would talk to my partner who is a man like I was not there. He made it quite obvious he did not think my female brain could handle what he was saying. He was slow to respond and expected me to know details that were case specific; that is what he is paid to manage. He is as unprofessional as they come. He made no effort to try and help me get the case dismissed (which I found out later was what should have happened). He seemed to want to "teach me a lesson," as if I was a child who needed to be punished. He ignored errors on the court documents then treated me like an idiot when I questioned them. I would suggest you find anyone but this man unless you are a sexist older white male yourself.
