Beyond disappointed. This was a complete waste of my time. I pursued a medical malpractice case. Retaining Shannon Wright in early October 2024. For several months I went months with no contact with the attorney Shannon Wright and his counterpart Joya Rogers. I would constantly email and call them both. For updates pertaining to my case. As medical cases can be time sensitive. I was reassured that Mr. Wright was working on my case and that time was not a factor. He needed more time to go over receive and review my medical records. Because of the Winter holidays of November and December I was understanding of the lack of communication. On January 10th 2025 Mr. Wright had informed me that he had hired a medical reviewer to look at my case. February 2025 I did not hear from him. March 2025 I scheduled a call with him and he did not call. Days later we set another time but I was not available by phone. Because he did not reach me at that time. I reached out to him and by phone we spoke. He told me that his medical reviewer was handling a large case and was behind. To me that was insensitive to my case. I was reminded then that this was not a good attorney for me. April 2025 Mr. Wright and I speak by phone and he tells me that the reviewer finds that the case would be hard for him to prove medical malpractice because of pre existing conditions. Mind you I HAVE NEVER EVER HAD ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR DISEASES. I says he does not feel as if he as a strong case for that reason. And will send me paper by mail. 6 1/2 months gone. I have to start all over. Thanks for nothing.

The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright Introduce

For residents across North Carolina, navigating life's significant legal needs, whether planning for the future or seeking justice after an unforeseen incident, requires a legal partner who is both knowledgeable and attentive. In Charlotte, NC, the Law Office of Shannon R. Wright aims to provide such support, assisting individuals and families through various legal processes. This article explores the services and characteristics of this firm, helping local North Carolina users learn more about their offerings.

The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright understands that legal matters can be complex and deeply personal. Their stated goal is to listen carefully to clients' needs and concerns, guiding them through processes like estate planning with clarity and thoroughness. As one satisfied client, I. Watkins from Durham, NC, eloquently stated, the firm "completed our Will and Estate Planning in a timely manner without question. They listened carefully to our needs as well as our concerns and walked us through the entire process leaving us with no doubts." This positive feedback highlights a strong capability in ensuring clients feel informed and confident about their future planning.

However, it is also important to present a balanced view, as other client experiences, particularly concerning medical malpractice cases, have raised significant concerns about communication and case handling. These instances highlight the importance of clear expectations and consistent engagement between attorney and client, especially when cases are time-sensitive or involve complex reviews. This disparity in feedback suggests that while the firm excels in certain areas like estate planning, prospective clients for other legal matters should conduct thorough due diligence and discuss communication protocols upfront.

For North Carolina residents, choosing a local firm like The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright offers the convenience of accessibility and a presumed familiarity with state and local legal nuances, even if specific legal areas are federally governed. Their presence in Charlotte aims to serve the community directly.

In the following sections, we will delve deeper into their location and accessibility, outline the services they offer, highlight features based on client feedback (both positive and negative), discuss promotions or special offers, and provide contact information. Our aim is to offer a comprehensive and factual overview for North Carolina users considering legal assistance.

Location and Accessibility

The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright is located at 1914 J N Pease Pl, Charlotte, NC 28262, USA. This address places the firm within a professional and commercial area of Charlotte, aiming to provide convenient access for clients across the city and the broader North Carolina region.

The location on J N Pease Place is situated within a business park setting, which typically offers structured accessibility. For clients traveling by car, this area of Charlotte generally provides ample parking facilities, reducing the common stress associated with finding a spot in more urbanized centers. The firm’s location allows for relatively straightforward commutes from various parts of Charlotte and its surrounding suburban areas, as it is usually well-connected to main roads and thoroughfares in that zip code.

While specific public transportation access might vary depending on a client's exact starting point, professional complexes in Charlotte are often served by local bus routes, offering alternative transportation options for those who prefer not to drive. It is always advisable for prospective clients to verify specific bus routes and stops if they plan to use public transport to reach the office.

The office environment at 1914 J N Pease Pl aims to provide a professional and suitable setting for discussions on sensitive legal matters such as estate planning or personal injury cases. The firm's presence in Charlotte underscores its intention to serve the local community directly, offering a physical location where clients can seek legal assistance.

Services Offered

Based on the provided client reviews, The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright offers legal services in at least two distinct areas, indicating a practice that caters to both proactive legal planning and reactive legal challenges:

  • Will and Estate Planning: This is a prominent service highlighted by a positive client review. The firm assists individuals and families in preparing essential documents like wills, and in developing comprehensive estate plans. This involves guiding clients through the process of outlining their wishes for asset distribution, appointing guardians, and ensuring their loved ones are provided for. The review emphasizes that the office "completed our Will and Estate Planning in a timely manner," "listened carefully to our needs as well as our concerns," and "walked us through the entire process leaving us with no doubts," even sharing "information about items that we had no knowledge of."
  • Medical Malpractice Cases: The firm also engages in representing individuals in medical malpractice cases. This involves pursuing claims where a healthcare professional's negligence has caused injury or harm to a patient. As indicated by a client's experience, this service includes reviewing medical records and assessing the viability of a claim. However, the client's review also points to challenges in communication and the ultimate decision not to pursue the case due to perceived difficulties in proving medical malpractice, particularly concerning pre-existing conditions (though the client disputes having any).

It is crucial for potential clients to recognize this dual focus and the different experiences reported across these service areas. While the firm appears proficient and thorough in estate planning, those considering medical malpractice representation should be prepared to discuss and clarify communication expectations and case assessment processes directly with the firm.

Features / Highlights

The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright presents a mixed set of features and highlights based on the provided client testimonials, showcasing strengths in some areas while revealing significant concerns in others. Here's a breakdown:

  • Thorough and Timely Estate Planning: A significant highlight is the firm's excellence in Will and Estate Planning. Clients praise their ability to complete these services "in a timely manner," demonstrating efficiency. They are noted for listening "carefully to our needs as well as our concerns and walked us through the entire process leaving us with no doubts," and for sharing "information about items that we had no knowledge of, which was necessary to bring everything together." This indicates a comprehensive and client-education-focused approach to estate planning.
  • Client-Centric Approach for Estate Planning: The positive review for estate planning suggests a highly attentive and supportive environment, where clients feel their needs are genuinely heard and addressed, leading to complete confidence in the outcome.

However, it is crucial to address the significant concerns raised regarding medical malpractice representation, as these heavily influence the overall perception of the firm's features:

  • Lack of Consistent Communication (Medical Malpractice): A primary concern is the reported "months with no contact" and unreturned "constant email and call" for updates. This severe lack of responsiveness, particularly in time-sensitive medical cases, is a critical negative highlight. The client explicitly states, "I did not hear from him," and "he did not call" for a scheduled meeting.
  • Delays and Perceived Insensitivity in Case Handling (Medical Malpractice): The client details delays ("6 1/2 months gone") and a perceived lack of urgency, including a medical reviewer being "behind" due to a "large case," which the client found "insensitive to my case." This suggests potential issues with case management and prioritization.
  • Disputed Case Assessment (Medical Malpractice): The attorney's decision not to pursue the medical malpractice case due to "pre existing conditions" was directly contradicted by the client, who states, "I HAVE NEVER EVER HAD ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR DISEASES." This highlights a significant discrepancy in case assessment and potentially a lack of thorough investigation or clear communication regarding findings.
  • Negative Client Experience and Financial Loss (Medical Malpractice): The client expressed being "Beyond disappointed," feeling it was a "complete waste of my time," and stating, "Thanks for nothing. I have to start all over." This indicates a profound negative impact, including financial and time loss, for the client seeking medical malpractice representation.

In summary, while the firm demonstrates strong positive attributes in estate planning, the severe concerns raised in the medical malpractice review regarding communication, case handling, and assessment are critical highlights that prospective clients, especially in similar complex litigation, must seriously consider.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a professional legal services firm, The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright focuses on providing expert legal representation and guidance for their clients' specific needs, rather than offering conventional "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. The value of legal services is derived from the attorney's knowledge, experience, and the comprehensive support provided through complex legal processes.

However, it is common practice within the legal industry for firms to offer initial consultations. While not a "promotion," this serves as a critical first step for prospective clients in North Carolina. During an initial consultation with The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright, individuals typically have the opportunity to discuss their specific legal needs, whether for estate planning or a potential personal injury/medical malpractice claim. This allows both the client and the firm to assess the case, understand potential legal pathways, and clarify expectations regarding the firm's approach and fee structure.

Given the mixed feedback regarding service delivery in different practice areas, it is particularly important for any prospective client to use this initial consultation to thoroughly discuss their expectations regarding communication, timelines, and case management, especially for time-sensitive or complex litigation like medical malpractice. Direct communication upfront can help clarify the firm's current practices and ensure alignment before any financial commitment is made.

For anyone in Charlotte or the wider North Carolina area considering legal assistance, it is highly recommended to contact The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright directly to inquire about their consultation process, any associated fees, and to address any concerns based on publicly available feedback. Direct communication is crucial for gathering the most accurate and up-to-date information tailored to your individual circumstances.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For residents throughout North Carolina, particularly those in the Charlotte metropolitan area, seeking legal assistance for life's significant needs, The Law Office of Shannon R. Their suitability for locals largely depends on the specific legal service required and a proactive approach to communication.

Firstly, the firm's location at 1914 J N Pease Pl, Charlotte, NC 28262, USA, offers practical accessibility for individuals within the local community. Being situated in Charlotte provides a convenient physical presence for in-person consultations, which can be reassuring for clients, particularly when discussing sensitive matters like estate planning. For individuals and families specifically seeking Will and Estate Planning services, The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright appears to be a highly suitable choice for North Carolina locals. The positive review highlights their thoroughness, timeliness, attention to client needs, and ability to provide information that brings clarity and confidence to the estate planning process. For these particular needs, the firm seems to offer dedicated and effective support, making them a reliable local resource for securing one's future and protecting loved ones.

However, for locals considering the firm for medical malpractice cases or other complex, time-sensitive litigation, it is crucial to acknowledge the serious communication and case management concerns raised in other reviews. While the firm may undertake such cases, prospective clients must ensure they establish clear, upfront communication expectations and processes for updates and case progression. For these more contentious legal areas, the client experience suggests that a robust and consistent communication strategy from the firm is vital for suitability.

In conclusion, The Law Office of Shannon R. Wright serves the Charlotte, NC, community with specific strengths in estate planning, where they demonstrate a high level of client satisfaction and thoroughness. For North Carolina locals with these particular needs, the firm appears to be a strong choice. For other legal needs, especially medical malpractice, suitability would heavily rely on a comprehensive initial discussion to confirm current practices regarding communication and case handling, ensuring alignment with client expectations for a smooth and transparent legal journey.
