Needed mother added to my deed, VA stated that they will have attornies that do deed contact me but they don't personally do deeds. Someone from Stable Law firm contacted me and typed my deed and charged me 1st it was $400 and later they wanted $415. I paid, talked to attorney and she stated that I would have to take deed to the village but I told her that I rather for her to take care of everything. I was told that she would find out how much another attorney fees are. I never got a call back. Now I have paid her $415 and her clerk told me that the attorney that I hired do not file the deed for customers. $415 is a ripoff to just type a deed! If I had known that, I would have went with another attorney. I will never have anything to do with any vet assistant organization because they seem to just suck money or other benefits from the government and prey on the Veterans!!!!!

The Veterans Legal Aid Society operates with a singular focus: to provide legal assistance to veterans and their families. As a non-profit entity, their mission is rooted in serving a community that has sacrificed so much. While the specific legal services they offer can vary, organizations of this nature typically work to address a wide range of legal issues that veterans may face, from navigating the complexities of VA benefits and claims to assisting with housing, employment, and other civil matters. Their existence is vital in ensuring that veterans have access to the legal resources they need to secure their rights and well-being, aiming to provide a pathway to justice and stability for those who have honored our nation with their service.
The Veterans Legal Aid Society is located at 1018 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60607, USA. For veterans and their families throughout Chicago and the surrounding Illinois communities, this central location offers practical convenience for seeking legal assistance.
The office on West Madison Street is well-served by Chicago's extensive public transportation system. Based on general practices of veteran legal aid societies and the nature of the provided review, their services likely include:
It's important for veterans to directly contact the Veterans Legal Aid Society to confirm the exact scope of services they offer for their specific legal needs.
The Veterans Legal Aid Society aims to serve as a crucial resource for veterans in Illinois. Based on its mission and the provided feedback, here are some key features and highlights:
It's important to note the mixed nature of the reviews. While one highlights positive helpfulness, the other expresses significant dissatisfaction with a referral process, perceived cost, and communication regarding service scope. This suggests that while the intent and mission are noble, individual client experiences can vary, and clarity on services and fees (especially for referred matters) is paramount.
As a non-profit organization dedicated to legal aid for veterans, the Veterans Legal Aid Society typically does not offer "promotions" or "special offers" in the commercial sense. Their primary "offer" is the provision of legal assistance and support to veterans and their families, often at reduced or no cost, depending on the specific service and the veteran's eligibility and financial situation.
Organizations like the Veterans Legal Aid Society are usually funded through grants, donations, and government programs, enabling them to provide their services. The benefit to veterans is access to legal expertise that might otherwise be financially out of reach. While the provided review mentions a fee charged by a referred firm (Stable Law firm), it's important to distinguish between the Veterans Legal Aid Society's direct services and those of external entities they might refer to. Legal aid organizations strive to connect veterans with affordable or pro bono legal help where possible.
For veterans in Illinois seeking legal assistance, the most significant "special offer" from such an organization is the opportunity for an initial consultation to assess their legal needs, often free of charge. This allows them to understand what legal support is available and how the Society can assist them or connect them with appropriate resources. It is crucial for veterans to directly inquire about any potential costs associated with services, particularly if they are referred to external legal partners, to ensure full transparency.
For veterans and their families in Illinois seeking legal assistance, the Veterans Legal Aid Society is located in Chicago and can be reached through the following contact details:
Veterans are encouraged to reach out directly to the Society to discuss their specific legal needs, inquire about the services they provide, and understand how they can offer support or connect them with appropriate legal resources. Making direct contact is the best way to determine if their services align with your requirements.
For veterans and their families across Illinois, particularly those residing in the greater Chicago area, the Veterans Legal Aid Society serves as a uniquely suitable and potentially invaluable resource for navigating a range of legal challenges. Their fundamental suitability for locals stems from their dedicated mission to serve a specific, deserving demographic: our nation's veterans.
The core advantage for locals is the Society's specialized focus. Veterans often face distinct legal issues related to benefits, healthcare, housing, and employment that differ from those of the general population. An organization singularly focused on these concerns is better equipped to understand the nuances of VA regulations, military law, and the unique circumstances affecting veterans' lives. This specialized knowledge can be critical in securing rightful benefits and resolving complex disputes.
Furthermore, located conveniently in Chicago's accessible West Loop, the Society offers a tangible point of contact for veterans in the metropolitan area. While one review highlights a very positive experience, praising the "great great company" and its helpfulness, it's also important for locals to be aware of the complexities that can arise with referrals to external firms and associated costs, as noted in another review. This underscores the importance of clear communication and upfront discussions about service scope and fees when working with any legal entity, whether directly or through a referral.
Despite potential complexities in the referral process, the very existence of the Veterans Legal Aid Society demonstrates a commitment to supporting those who have served. For veterans in Illinois seeking dedicated legal guidance, particularly for issues connected to their service, this organization offers a crucial avenue for support and advocacy, making it a valuable and suitable resource for the local veteran community.
