I have known Shannon Lynch for 15+ years. She helped me through my divorce by providing good counsel and excellent legal advice. Many of my siblings and mother (family of 7), have retained Shannon for family law issues during the time that I have known Shannon. I can honestly say that Shannon performed well above all of our expectations. I know that Shannon does not sugar coat her advice. When it was time to "get out" to limit losses and to not incur unnecessary legal expenses, Shannon was honest and truthful. I would not hesitate to retain Shannon Lynch again. I most certainly would not hesitate to recommend Shannon as a competent attorney and mediator.

Lynch Shannon R Introduce

Welcome to Lawyers Near Me, your platform for connecting with legal professionals in your area. Today, we are introducing Lynch Shannon R, an attorney and mediator operating from 500 N Akard St Suite 2150, Dallas, TX 75201, USA. For individuals in Dallas and surrounding regions seeking assistance with family law matters or mediation services, Shannon R. Lynch offers legal guidance and dispute resolution support. You can reach her office by calling (214) 720-1331 or via mobile at +1 214-720-1331 to inquire about her services.

The environment at Lynch Shannon R's office, situated at 500 N Akard St Suite 2150, Dallas, TX 75201, is likely a professional setting, typical of a legal practice in a downtown business district. In legal consultations and mediation sessions, a neutral and professional atmosphere is generally sought to facilitate discussions. The firm's approach, based on client feedback, suggests a direct communication style. While one client lauded her for not "sugar-coating" her advice and being "honest and truthful" regarding financial implications and when to conclude a case, another client's detailed account raises concerns about transparency and responsiveness in a mediation context. The physical setting of the office would aim to support the sensitive nature of family law and mediation discussions, providing a confidential space for clients to address their legal issues.

Lynch Shannon R provides legal services primarily in family law, including divorce, and also acts in the capacity of a mediator for family court cases. In her role as an attorney, she offers counsel on divorce proceedings and related family law issues, aiming to guide clients through the legal process. The positive review indicates her involvement in providing "good counsel and excellent legal advice" during divorce cases, assisting multiple family members with their family law concerns over a period of years. As a mediator, her services involve facilitating settlements between parties in family court cases, such as child support and custody disputes. This involves scheduling sessions, setting fees, and working to help parties reach a mutually agreeable resolution outside of court. Her services are designed to address the complexities inherent in family legal matters, whether through direct legal representation or as a neutral third-party mediator.

The features of Lynch Shannon R's services, as reflected in client feedback, present a mixed perspective. On one hand, she is highlighted as a "competent attorney and mediator" who provides "good counsel and excellent legal advice," and is praised for her honesty and directness, particularly in advising clients when to limit legal expenses. This suggests a pragmatic and client-cost-conscious approach in her role as an attorney. Her long-standing relationships with some clients, who have retained her for family law issues over 15 years, speak to a level of trust and satisfaction built over time. The positive testimonial emphasizes her ability to perform "well above all of our expectations" when acting as legal counsel. On the other hand, a detailed review concerning a mediation engagement outlines significant concerns regarding billing transparency, adherence to stated fee schedules, and responsiveness. This client's experience describes a discrepancy between the quoted "half day" mediation fee and a subsequent cancellation refund, leading to an alleged withholding of funds and a lack of response to a formal demand for a refund. The client specifically advises caution when making advance payments, citing "unprofessional behavior" and an intention to escalate the issue with the Better Business Bureau due to the State Bar's lack of jurisdiction over mediators in such disputes. This conflicting feedback suggests that while her legal representation services may be highly regarded by some, there are areas of concern regarding her mediation administrative practices and communication, particularly concerning financial agreements and refunds, that prospective clients should be aware of and consider.

For local users searching on "Lawyers Near Me" in Dallas, TX, who are considering legal assistance for family law matters or mediation services, Lynch Shannon R is an option to explore with careful consideration of the varied client experiences. The positive feedback suggests strong advocacy and clear, honest legal advice in family law cases, making her a potential choice for direct legal representation, especially for divorce and family-related disputes. Clients who appreciate direct communication and advice that includes financial prudence may find her approach beneficial. However, the detailed negative review regarding mediation services, particularly concerning financial transparency and refund policies, indicates that prospective clients should exercise diligence. It is advisable to thoroughly clarify all fee schedules, cancellation policies, and refund terms in writing before engaging her services, especially for mediation. You can contact Lynch Shannon R at (214) 720-1331 or +1 214-720-1331 to discuss your specific needs. Given the conflicting reviews, it would be prudent for potential clients to conduct a comprehensive due diligence, asking specific questions about fee structures and communication protocols for both legal representation and mediation services, to ensure alignment with their expectations before proceeding with any financial commitments.

Ms. Shannon Lynch was hired in my Dallas County Family Court case in the capacity of a mediator on January 28, 2019. Upon hiring Ms. Lynch, she sent a "scheduling letter" to myself, my attorney of record, opposing counsel and the Texas OAG's office. In the letter she acknowledged that the mediation was set for "HALF DAY" on April 26, 2019 from 9am - 1pm. Further in the letter she detailed the fee schedule for the half day session stating VERBATIM that the cost was "$1,800 ($900 per side)". She went on to state "I have a $400 non-refundable scheduling fee per side which is due IMMEDIATELY upon your receipt of this letter". In good faith, and Immediately upon receipt of her scheduling letter, I made a payment of $900 to Ms. Lynch to cover in full my part of the half day session (to include MY $400 scheduling fee). By doing so, I acknowledged that per her letter only $500 was refundable. Mid-March 2019 myself and the custodial parent reached a settlement accord. A final order was signed by the court on March 29, 2019. An email was sent to Ms. Lynch on April 3, 2019 stating the case settled and that we no longer needed the mediation session and requesting refund as applicable. Mind you, this was almost 30 days before the session was set to commence. Per Ms. Lynch's scheduling letter the minimum cancellation time was 4 business days before the session was scheduled to take place. Considering all of the above as well as my $900 payment made, Ms. Lynch owes me a refund of $500. Yet, in Ms. Lynch's response to my attorney on April 3, 2019, she stated that her scheduling fee was $800 and that she would only refund $100 to me. She knows that there were two parties to this suit evidenced by her email traffic between her and all attorney's of record. Furthermore, her refund contradicts the scheduling letter she issued when we hired her in January 2019 and that only $400 of her total scheduling fee was my responsibility. One can only assume that she is reallocating my good faith payment well in advance of our mediation session to the lawsuit's other party's fee as they did not comply with her terms. So, she punishes the person who behaved properly in the lawsuit - real classy. I have sent a formal demand via email to Ms. Lynch for my remaining $400 owed in refund and she has not responded. I can only assume the lack of response from Ms. Lynch is because she has no intention of honoring the agreement that was made when she was hired. I would be very careful giving this lawyer/mediator any money in advance. She has acted extremely unprofessional in my specific interaction with her and she has basically stolen $400 from my family as a result of her unprofessional behavior. I have attempted to file a grievance with the State Bar but because she was acting as a mediator, not my hired attorney, they said they had no jurisdiction to sanction her. So, basically my hands are tied and my family and I will be without the money owed to us. I will continue my fight with the Better Business Bureau and hope for the best. But it's probably only going to amount to higher levels of stress and wasted time. So, please don't make the same mistake I have in hiring Ms. Lynch for any facet of your legal fight.

One star is far too much. This lady is dishonest, rude and arrogant to say the least. Her lack of integrity is nothing short of criminal. She needs to be exposed and disbarred. Shannon Lynch was consistently threatening, overcharging and was caught outright lying to push an agenda.

Ms. Lynch was retained to take care of my son's relocation to his father. She didn't answer emails for months and when I finally asked for my money back she provided the completed work, but all of it was incorrect. When I asked for my money back she sent me what was left of the retainer AFTER she did the incorrect work, which was AFTER I had already asked for my money back. I am a struggling single mom and can NOT afford to spare the $2300 she took from me with no help at all.
